Speaking of Naz - Freddy is giving him a crash course on how to be a stone cold killah. His motivations HAVE to be deeper than Naz being his "intellectual escape", or whatever he called him. My guess is Freddy is working with someone on the outside to set Naz up while he's on the inside.

I don't think Freddy is involved in the case. I think he's just a hard ass convict working a new angle. He's going to get what he can out of Naz or anyone else and when they aren't useful anymore he goes on his way or gets rid of them

How the hell does Freddie expect to get away with offing that guy when they made it a point to show that Naz was on camera in the bathroom? They have cameras in the bathroom but not the general area? Freddie IMHO was the most compelling actor in series. He had an aura of bad ass and smarts about him while being likeable in a Tony Soprano likeable way.

The lawyer kissing him inside the holding cell was a little over the top if you ask me. If she cares about him isn't that grounds for a mistrial? Or was that the whole point?

Predictions (not spoilers, just my guess) for the ending. I have no contacts at HBO or any other inside info:

something happened to Andrea right before she jumped in the cab with Naz and whoever it happened with was the one who killed her. Remember "I can't be alone tonight" and how upset she seemed until she started huffing ecstasy, tequila and ketamine?

If I had to guess it will be the guy that Stone chased into the alley or the physical trainer guy. Can't think of his name at the moment. But I'm going with the guy Stone chased into the alley.

I don't think Naz will be found innocent not because he actually committed the murder but because one last episode is a lot to unload and it make it seem even possibly realistic. If that's the turn the show takes I think the viewers will find out what really happened that night but not the characters.

Along with resolution of the murder I'd like to know the correlation between Stone's gross feet and the deer head after being shoved down our throats almost every episode.

One other theory is that the detective that's been leading up the investigation reveals some info he's been holding back which resolved it for both audience and actors.

Freddy doesn't care if he gets away with it. Remember he said he's got 4 murders already and deliberately caught another case that someone else did just to be at Rikers close to his people.

Unless I'm mistaken that's a flaw in the writing. Riker's Island is a jail which is used to hold people awaiting trail that couldn't post bail. Freddie should be in prison. Anyone know if Freddie would be able to pull that off?

The story is that Freddy took the fall for another murder to stay in Rikers so his wife would be closer to visit. He already has long sentence so what is another stretch

Just finished Sunday's episode. Was pretty good. Seems they aren't gonna answer the question about when Stone was chasing the second black guy at the end of episode 5 though. Guess we'll all see if we've wasted our time pretty soon.

Yes, he could pull that off IF they brought him back for his trial and sentencing etc.

The ending was meh. Loved the characters but would have enjoyed it more if it had a darker ending.

I totally thought since episode 4 or 5 that his friend in prison was setting him up and would testify against him to get out earlier. Everything was set up perfect to make that happen as his friend killed the only other witnesses to what he would say (Naz brought the drugs, Naz did the drugs, then just make up the part about Naz admitting he did it).

Was worth the time but is probably the same reaction I'll have when Game of Thrones ends. No way to live up to the rest of the story.

Noticed in opening credits, 'Omar' is credited as Michael Kenneth Williams.

Anyone notice off the top of their heads, is this the first time he's credited that way instead of Michael K?

Not a big deal, just interesting, like he might be trying to rebrand a tad [though obviously this wasn't the optimum character to separate him from the legacy of The Wire].

This is what I meant by "satisfying". I was expecting a lot of loose ends, so I was satisfied with how it wrapped up.

I think the darkness RINGLEADER was looking for is more of an implied future. They took a damaged kid and turned him into a full-on drug user, who also brought down his main attorney.

And the cat running across in the last shot really was good. We thought he was headed to go get the cat, and that would have been nice, too. But the reveal that he already had done it - and that it now had free reign of the house - was perfect.
