Is the Arrowhead "experience" worth going to?

I'm contemplating driving to KC in October to go to the Rams-Chiefs. I've already been to the sports complex to see a Royals game. However, is the tailgating as good as people make it out to be? Additionally, what's the in game experience like?

The DT years were the loudest and best. The Priest and Trent years were a close second-still fun and very exciting.

Now it is way over priced for the entertainment value- and too often the team chokes and leaves you broke and unhappy when you leave.

You should try it once for sure though-especially to see your team play on the road. Still probably the best place to see a game- next to the Packers.

If you go, just know you're doing it for the tailgating only.

The in-game experience will never be the same. It's a shadow of its former self at this point. The closest it's come to the Roaring 90's was on Thanksgiving Night, 2006.

Opening Monday night of the new Arrowhead was better.

I was at both, and Thanksgiving 06 was louder in my opinion. Nothing's felt like that since.

I was also at both. I guess for me the buildup before the Monday night game is what separated it from the Thanksgiving game. Both were great though.

No, it really wasn't.

It came close in short bursts, but wasn't the near-constant roar of the 90's or Thanksgiving Night.

There is really no newbie section to post anything so I'm going to post here as this is why I made an account here. I am lucky enough to be able to go to the November 16th game at arrowhead to see the chiefs and hawks play. I keep hearing that its a great tailgate experience... I am looking for any helpful information to assist me while I'm there. I am a Seahawk fan, but I'm a football fan first.. I like to talk football schemes and styles and don't really care for who is better or to argue about what team is better. just fun football talk. I believe that all the nfl teams are so close that any game is decided by who is playing better that day. If anyone would be as so kind to point me in the right direction on where to go, when to get there, what to bring that would be awesome..... thanks in advance and also thanks for letting me hang out here. Peace.

Bring lots of antifreeze. The best tailgating is just outside of lot A underneath the flaming AIDS tree. Enjoy.

The last 2 really raucous games where both Monday night football games against the chargers. Oper/Haloween. Even the Raiders game this year where we 'broke the record' wasn't as hyped.

Still 100x better than that shit dome in STL

If you're stuck watching live pro football in the EJD, then yes it is worth the 3-4hr drive to watch a game at Arrowhead. The only place worse then EJD is/was the Metrodome.
