The drone should be pretty effective, as there doesn't seem to be any cover to use in the arena.

Yes, but Bowser should be able to hear the drone wherever its at. Then it's just a matter of staying away from the bomb after it's dropped.

Based on the description, I think the bomb explodes upon impact with the ground.

On a dark desert highway.
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of Colitas
rising up in the air

Sauto. Not even close. Drone stuns Bowser. Sauto comes over and jams a few of the arrows into his face.

Ok? Sauto has two options with his drone, as I see it. He can either be higher up in the air so Bowser has no chance at knocking it out of the sky....or he can be closer to ground so Bowser has less chance of dodging the bombs.

What's the range on an average drone?

The drone has to be low enough that bowser can't just move 4 feet by the time the bomb lands. At that height he should be able to get an arrow tangled in one of the props and take out the drone and possibly harvest the bombs to throw like grenades.

It seems to me that Bowser has to get within arrow range, and probably reasonably close unless he's a trained archer. If he does that, he's got an advantage. However, SAUTO has to let him get within range, because his best shot with the drones is to get Bowser while he's standing still and aiming. Given the range of the arrows, I think SAUTO may have a slight advantage if he can stun, advance, stun, advance, stun, kick with boots on a rapid progression.

Did we establish in an earlier round how long lasting and how severe the stun effects are with these bombs?

I vaguely recall that we decided that a person would be comprised for approximately 3 to 4 minutes, severely at first and then fading.
