Why pay ten bucks for a good burger when you can get one for six at Wendy's?

The nugget of truth is the same reason McDonald's sells the most hamburgers in the world and why more people shop at Wal-Mart than anywhere else.

People prefer macro brews because your average consumer wants a cheap option that does the job. Same reason box wine and black velvet sell.

Just give me something that does the job for the least amount of money. I do this at times as well. I'm not going to crush 12 pale ales on a Saturday night because they're a bit heavier and my stomach would be fairly full. I'll just drink bud light if I'm doing that. If I want a couple or three beers I'm most certainly going to drink something that actually has a good flavor to me. Not the bud light. Although it most certainly has it's place and usefulness for me. Some people have drank the shit their whole life, so of course they prefer it and think micro brews are a waste of money. Their loss.

Absolutely nothing wrong with branching out and trying the micro stuff, much of it is damn good, just like I discovered when trying Boulevard Pale Ale after so many Planet recommendations... but theres just too much snobbery when it comes to a regular beer around here.

A Coors Banquet style will not only "get ya lit" but its also smooth, made from beautiful water and has a good, strong hops flavor to it... don't even get me started on Black Velvet though, sooo funny you would mention that particular brand, Pops called it "loudmouth".

My dad pretty much only drinks Bud Light, so I've drank an ass-load of that. My FIL drinks Busch Light and Black Velvet. Drank a ton of that as well. They're all perfectly fine for what they're suited to do. Getting you drunk. I'll be the first to admit that when I'm outside in the summer, I almost always want a Bud Light Lime canned. Especially if I'm on the water or golfing where you can't have glass. Don't know why, but it works for those long summer sessions particularly well.

I've made the mistake of offering my dad and FIL Blvd. products before. After 30 years of drinking one brand of beer, you can imagine how well that went over. I usually keep an Anhueser product in the fridge in case they stop by. And I don't bother mixing my FIL a whiskey and coke with my Bulleit or Bourbon Trace, so I keep Jim Beam on hand. It's cheap and I like it as well.

There's a fair amount of beer snobbery on this board. And whiskey snobbery. And wine snobbery. And food snobbery. And the list goes on. That's just CP. We like to argue about why our opinion on 'x' is more valid and enlightened than the next guy.

Drinking diet coke. Been taking an alcohol break for about 2 weeks. Drank a .750 of Rye on Rye when it first dropped mid-January then drank everything in my fridge and most of it was 10+ ABV. I got hammert on beer. So I took a break. Probably have a sixer Sunday night then break again for most of February.

I don't know that there is a fair amount of snobbery on the board. Having preferences is not snobbery. It's only snobbery, I would argue, when you look down at someone for their own preferences.

When scott free joked[ish] that I saw snobbery in myself, well, he's wrong. He doesn't see me with people at their homes, or at my home, or at local bars. He doesn't know that a lot of my best friends don't drink craft beer, or will start with craft beer and transition into Budweisers to finish off the night, and that it meets with zero opposition from me. He doesn't know that I don't try and push craft beer onto people (but will gladly talk about it when asked or prompted). He probably isn't even recognizing that I'm not using phrases like "better beer" or "more flavorful beer" or etc. If you enjoy what you drink, I'm happy for you.

Now, I'm probably a music snob. I actually do look down at people for some music preferences. But I really try not to be a beer snob.

You didn't HAVE to defend Coors because no one was attacking Coors.

Sipping some of the Grand Marnier I received as a birthday gift. I'd say "comfortable" is an appropriate adjective.
