Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

First time in this thread, so I apologize if this question has already been answered.

My petite (5'2", 115 or so), 19yo daughter went shooting (skeet, I think) with her college roommate and liked it. Now she wants a shotgun. I don't want to drop a ton of money on a starter gun for a hobby that I don't know will last, but I don't want to get her a piece of crap either.

Looking around on the internet, I came up with some positive recommendations for a TriStar Raptor Youth 20 gauge semi-automatic for approx. $400.

Does anyone have any comments about that particular gun or recommendations for an alternative?

I'm the first to admit....I don't know shit about shotguns. I know which end to aim at dirtbags and that's all.

Found a little better price for ya (if you're ordering it online)

I think I would pay the $400 any place else or keep looking, but that's just me. I have a long memory and I remember not long ago when the cheaper than dirt clowns price gouged everyone during a gun shooting dust up after one of the shootings. I vowed never to give those worthless pricks another dime.

On a side note, I have to get my butt out and shoot that new 45-70!! Any word of any elk drifting around Bridger Creek? I think that would be a great way to break it in.

Slightly, they fingerprint you, take front and side pictures of you, sign a statement that you are of sound mind, ask if you vote democrat or republican, sign where you work and address, sign a document to loyalty to this president and follow all his commands.

That is all.

I went with a buddy when he picked out his deer rifle and it seemed about like kansas. ID, 10 question form, ssn, and a call in background check.

That's it. I've waited 5 minutes for a background check and up to 40 minutes it varies, not difficult.

So I have an HK45C and I love mine, I was introducing a friend to shooting and was going through a variety of 45s and he preferred the HK45C also. Shoots really well and is super reliable. Actually buying the HK45C made me later go pick up a Mark 23.

For CCW you probably want to look at the LEM trigger. You can either buy it with one or you can install one later. It makes it DAO but I hear it's really nice DA, I actually have it but haven't installed it yet.

As for CCW I'm not sure what the 'T' option buys you. The threaded barrel on the tactical isn't particularly useful for CCW because it sticks out more and is just something else to get hung up on. Well unless you plan to CCW silenced . Then the ladies may come up to you and say....'hey is that a silenced HK45CT in your pocket or are you just REALLY happy to see me!'

Great answer!

You are right. Just downloaded the manual and I don't expect to get a suppressor anytime soon. I don't need a CT. A 45C will do.

Have not seen a Mark 23. What do you like about it?

Thanks
