Kelce: 1 Reception, 6 Yards in Week One

I was surprised recently when I saw that stat. My memory is a bit faded. Anyone remember why Kelce was so limited in week one? Was he off? Injury? Our scheme? Dolt scheme?

With Hunt gone and Hill hobbled a bit, it'd be nice for Kelce to have one of his patented big games on Thursday. I suspect Kelce will have a much better game this time.

Kelce generally doesn't do that well against the Chargers.

No TDs.
No games over 100 yards.

I think he'll have a good game. Reid will come up with ways to get him open.

Everybody and their brother were mentioning Sunday they needed to double-team Kelce in the 2nd half and they did. Maybe that's what the Chargers always do. We're gonna need the other guys to step up.

Our new weapon - Benjamin?

Good point. Has anyone heard more on Benjamin? Guessing limited snap count since he's still learning the playbook. Kelce/Harris/Benjamin in the redzone is gonna be hella hard for any team to cover. That's 3 former BB players 6'5" or over. Helluva of a front court. Throw Conley in at 6'3" and DAMN. Jump ball anyone?

Saw a tweet that Reid hopes to get him a few packages by Thursday

According to the game log, Kelce was targeted 6 times. Only Hill was targeted more (8).
Mahomes only had 27 pass attempts so those two accounted for just over half of those throws. It was the fewest number of Pass attempts that Mahomes made this season.

Redzone would make sense. Might be a good momentum builder for him too, considering his not-so-great season with the Bills.

Nice stats. PM II and passing game has evolved. Plus it's at home. Hope Kelce has a little chip on his should and lights it up Thurs night.

Harris has looked legit good lately. Actually catching shit AND making great, athletic plays with the ball. Mahomes has simply elevated his play and it's cool to see.

I think he (and Benjamin, if he gets in there much) can really help free things up for Kelce.

The Chargers, iirc, are the best short pass defending team in the league, and the worst deep pass defending team.

I'm guessing that's a scheme thing. Which is why 'Reek usually has big days against them and Kelce not so much.
