Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

Rodgers won a Super Bowl 7 years ago. Brees never makes the playoffs.

10% chance he plays the entire season? Garbage logic.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats...5209/tony-romo

Not great at math, but I see a lot of 16 games played seasons for Romo ... so your math does not check out.

Hilariously ... over their careers ... Romo and Rodgers are 65.3% and 65.1% and average 7.89 and 7.91 Yards Per Attempt. Nope! Nothing alike!

Alex Smith 6.78 Yards Per Attempt.

Please don't challenge my NFL QB knowledge you will lose.

Brady - 7.5 YPA
Manning - 7.67 YPA

Romo/Rodgers - 7.9 YPA

Brees - 7.55 YPA

...Romo and Rodgers literally play the QB position the same. Rodgers is just better and physically the most gifted QB of any lifetime.

Nice context, guy.

Romo plays the QB position like Aaron Rodgers. Same style.Sort of...minis a Super Bowl ring....

Romo being a free agent/trade target is comparable to Manning in 2013.Maybe but I doubt it....again a clutch QB who has got it done in the playoffs and has won a SB has more value

Romo to the Chiefs would be very similar to Montana coming to the Chiefs back in '93 (2 straight years of almost no game action due to injury - being replaced by a younger QB)Except Montana was a proven playoff winner with multi SBs

Romo has been less injury prone, outside of the past 1.5 years, than Ben Roethlisberger over the course of their careers.Yeah ....Big Ben at least made it though preseason

Hey I would appreciate the effort by the Chiefs to bring him in... but I just feel it will be a train wreck..... Oh be kind to me it's my Birthday and I'm having a shitty day

Romo can make every NFL throw with ease. Of course he, as well as everyone else in the world, can not make all of the ridiculous throws Rodgers unleashes.

I don't buy into this 'they win in the playoffs!!!' garbage.

P. Manning was blasted his entire career for being a 'choker' and Brady lauded for being a 'winner' and, yet, Brady was 0 for his last 3 against Manning (choker!) in the AFC Championship Game.

Please remember, this happened in the playoffs. Romo made that pass and that catch (obvious catch) was ruled incomplete on 4th down.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1khK6is-Bfs

But CP logic labels Romo a choker because he lost the playoff game !

Makes a lot of sense, honestly.

I didn't even care about the outcome of that game ... but I am still appalled the NFL has the audacity to try and tell me that is not a catch

Did you even watch the first few minutes of either of those videos?
Rodgers throws strikes while running outside the pocket. Rodgers is a lot faster runner. Rodgers balls are on a line when he is throwing off balance.
Romo makes a couple of passes from outside the pocket but NOTHING like what Rodgers can and continually does. Romo looks like he is running in mud. Romo throws balls that take much longer to reach their targets.
They are very different other than their movement in the pocket to buy a little time.
They throw completely different.

Ok, fine. Tony Romo is definitely slower than Aaron Rodgers when he's running with the football. Can't argue with that.

Again, Romo is a top tier NFL QB and anyone that doesn't want to bring him in to replace Smith while continuing to look for a prospect via draft is pretty ignorant IMHO. I do understand, however, that everyone is entitled to their own opinion so to each their own !

Romo is far better than Alex, but he can't carry a team like Aaron.

How awful were the Packers this year? Injuries and deficiencies made them a 6-10 team but Rodgers carried them to the NFCCG.
He also carried a team with like 20 players on IR to a SB title. Romo has never even carried his team to a championship game.

Rodgers is on a whole other level

How well do you think he will do in Reid's WCO? How well will he do throwing 0 yard passes and little to no passes over 10 yards?
That will be what is asked of him.

Did you really brag about your QB knowledge in a thread where you're comparing Tony Romo to Aaron Rodgers? You also said Brees never makes the playoffs? Might want to check Brees' and Romo's playoff success before posting something that stupid.

No doubt that Aaron Rodgers is better than Tony Romo at playing QB. He's better than probably anyone other than MAYBE Tom Brady and honestly, those two play the position completely different so that's a ridiculous comparison in itself.

My point is very simple. Tony Romo plays the QB position in the same manner as Aaron Rodgers. He's just not as good. He's still a top tier NFL QB and an elite NFL passer. When healthy and protected, he has shown he's as good as ANYONE (other than probably Rodgers or Brady).

I was very impressed with Rodgers this year. Rodgers still holds the ball too long at unnecessary times, much like Romo, and it leads to unnecessary sacks (which has been my long standing gripe with both Rodgers and Romo). Trying to make something happen every play is what ends up getting Romo hurt. Hopefully, if we do land Romo, Reid can kind of influence Tony a bit like Haley influenced Big Ben to sometimes just get rid of the ball and move to the next play. Fortunately, I don't think Reid can neuter Romo to the extent he's neutered Alex Smith. Romo has some of the best QB instincts I've ever seen (much like Aaron Rodgers).

I do think the NFC East has been a tougher division to win than the NFC North. That does matter when it comes to postseason success. Rodgers basically gets a home game every year. Kind of like how it should be in the AFC South with Luck.

Again, doesn't really matter ... this shouldn't even be a debate. If Romo wants to come to KC, sorry Alex ... we have to upgrade. No hard feelings.

It's not like Alex is 28 ... he's officially a stopgap now, just like Romo would be. Romo is 100 times the stopgap and he could very easily lead the Chiefs to a Super Bowl if he can stay healthy.

It's not a given he will stay healthy, just like it's not a given he will get hurt. He's had a tough couple of years and he, despite usually toughening it out, seemed to always be nicked up over the years ... but the 10%'ers are being very extreme.

This has been debunked for years. Guys are open down field quite often but "too risky" for ASS to hit.

Do we forget that Reid is a Holmgren disciple? Pretty sure Reid is a big Brett Favre mark ... pretty sure he wouldn't mind having Brett Favre version 2.0 in KC.

Look, Reid is a smart guy who coached against Romo for years ... ultimately, if the Chiefs want Romo, they can probably get Romo. So I guess we'll see how high Andy Reid is on Tony Romo. I think Jerry Jones would prefer to ship him to the AFC and to ship him out of the state of Texas ... so we'll see how married to Smith Reid really is ...

My guess?

80% chance Romo plays in Denver next year.
15% chance he's a Chief.
5% chance of somewhere else.

I do not think he will be a Texan at all and they are the hands down favorite at the sportsbooks right now.

Brees doesn't make the playoffs ...

on a website where playoff success is all that matters and QB's mean everything - someone needs to explain the Drew Brees free pass that has been issued since his 1 Super Bowl ages ago
