Anybody here ever actually run the 40?

Curious to see if we have any other athletes out here.

I don't have a stopwatch. Maybe I should see if one of my friends does and get some jackass to time me.

What's your 40 time?

Dj I said as much...if he went to wichita state out of high school the only reason he wasn't drafted (and are you sure he wasn't?) Was because they knew 100% he was going to school. Wichita state is an elite baseball program. And clearly he wasn't pro ready as he's still playing AAA...so the college education is of more value to him than a 10K bonus to sign out of high school.

Upper torso, and lower are ripped!
Got Quads and calfs that would have made Arnold look twice back in the day from wearing stilts and climbing scaffolding, arms are so ripped I can pop almost any muscle group on them you want to see.
My Gut is the only place I carry any weight, as do most hand tapers for some odd reason.
My work literally is a 10-12 hr weight enhanced cardio routine with almost no ab work.
Still trying to figure out how to do more.
Summer i'll melt to 195-205 sweating from sand outs, winter i'll go 215-225

I remember my first time running the 40. At one point in time I was the fastest kid in the school (5th and 6th grade [middle school]), but it wasn't until sometime near the end of 9th grade that I ran it for the first time. I hit puberty super late and I was probably 5'2'' 110 lbs. So I run it and clock a 5.4. I was pissed! I assumed I was going to clock a 4.9 or something respectable so I made them clock me three more times and hit 5.3-5.4 every time. At that time I had never touched a weight or played any sports competetively so that was that. Fast forward a few months to the beginning of my sophomore year. I had hit a little growth spurt so I was like 5'4'' or so and had "bulked up" to about 120 lbs. Not only that I was in much better running condition so I clocked a 4.87.

I never ran the 40 again but I'd imagine I could have shaved off another second or so after I got taller and added more leg strength. These days I can run with a good friend of mine that plays college baseball. If I remember correctly he said he runs a 6.9 60 and I run with him after six months of laying on my ass while he's off conditioning 6 days a week. We're neck and neck after the 40 but by 60 he's got about a half-stride on me so I think I'm pretty fast, considering...

Me and a buddy tried it once back in college. Was not ideal conditions. Wet grass field and didn't have my cleats but 4.7 was the best I could do under those conditions.

Was pretty fast back in the day so I should have tried it on a nice day. Will always wonder now because there's no way at 32 I could match what I could do in my early 20s. Shame.

What was your fastest 5K time in Cross Country? Mine was a 15:12 in Sedailia, MO where the course was pretty flat in comparison to others. I was a dustance runner back in the day and never ran a race less than 800 Meters. My strength was the 1600 and 3200.

I never made it. I had an injury my senior year that kept me out of lifting for almost three months. On the last day of school, I could only hit 935 pounds.

But considering I only weighed 170 at graduation, that was pretty good. And before you call "bullshit", not only do I have hundreds of classmates that will support my claim, but pics as well.

That's Olympic speed in the mile. I believe our school record was a 4:26 mile set by a friend who's still running marathons to this day.

There are a lot of people who are completely full of shit.

Coaches make your 40 times look better for the same reason they BS your height and weight.

Christ, one of my best friends was the starting tailback. He was listed at 5'7" 170. He wrestled at 135 in the winter, and I know for a fact that he is 5'4"
