what game have you logged the most hours on?

Probably Madden 03 or NCAA basketball 2k8 for me.

MLB 2005...holy shit

my friend and I would sit in my room for hours and hours and hours (sometimes even days) and play...

it would register how much you'd play...in the span of two months we logged 31 days of play...we literally spent half of our life playing that game for two months.

It was sleep, play MVP, and then maybe go out if we decided drinking in my room was boring...and then we'd wake up and play again.

life was great back then
My roommates at the time would sit in our apartment for entire weekends just playing dynasty mode on NCAA 2003-04. We'd all be in the same dynasty. One guy would play his game while the other guys sat back and drank. When it was your turn to play....you'd grab the controller and play. We'd bust through 2-3 seasons a weekend. Awesome ****ing times.

Oh yeah, planning what gear you wanted to get, and how you were going to camp the mobs that you needed. Endless hours on Allahkazam researching and looking at quests and maps. We didn't have any of the new fangled add-ons that the kiddies do today.

Dude, I would sit in my computer class in college and just study Allahkazam the whole time. I'd read about as many quests as I could, and print out zone maps made by MUSE.

I had a physical 3 ring binder notebook with quest notes/maps and other stuff. There was no built in tools for Quest tracking... or built in zone maps, etc.

That was when the game was FUN! (and hard).

As it stands now, I no desire to play any of the MMO's out there. Maybe EQNext when it comes out, or there is one in development called World of Darkness based on White Wolf's table top game Vampire the Masquerade, being developed by the same company that did EVE.
I will prolly play EQ next if it ever comes out.

I hadn't heard of World of Darkness.... but I used to play Vampire with a couple of buddies back in high school. That seems interesting!!

I hated camping for stuff and killing placeholder so my guy might spawn. The eipc weapons quest had many terrible camps. Back then I had all my maps in a binder or laminated. It was actually pretty cool in a geeky way.\

I can still hear the shouts of TRAIN!!!!!!! First time I ever heard that was in Blackburrow about 3 minutes into playing the game and I remember thinking there must be a train to take me to town....about 10 seconds later I was dead and then realized what it was.

I totally had the folder of maps and quests for EQ. It was impossible to figure anything out otherwise.

Was it just me and my friends/guild or were Enchanters designed to be bait. I remember when AA was first introduced and we would joke about
/disc chanterdeath. And it was never a successful group unless the chanter died.

As for Vanguard, I met fruit ninja there too. That game was the closest to EQ, but sans the amazing long camp times. It was perfect, minus the fact that the coding was all wrong and it actually played like shit. I did love the class design though. Some of the most unique classes that I haven't seen replicated yet in any other game.

So were you on Shidreth with us then? (It was a different name either before or after that as well)

I played a Disciple (Best class ever) under this name and was in Blades of Wrath.

In fact; I just re-installed VG and have been running around for nostalgia purposes the last few days. It's free to play.
Vanguard was an amazing game (even with some buggy quests), but the lack of end content killed it. We waited 6 months at max level doing nothing, waiting for them to finish Ancient Port Warehouse... only to beat it within a month or two.
