RUMOR - Bob Dylan replaces Beyoncé as Super Bowl halftime performer, or so says Tim H

http://www.avclub.com/articles/bob-d...line%3Adefault

By Marah Eakin January 30, 2013
Bob Dylan has replaced Beyoncé as the Super Bowl halftime performer—or at least Tim Heidecker says he has. According to the ex-Rolling Stone editor and Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! star, the folk warbler has replaced the pop star after her inauguration lip synching scandal left the country—and sponsor Pepsi—so shocked and saddened that the only cure was a notoriously eccentric 71-year-old.

Reminding the world that nothing screams contact sports like an old man in a floppy bow tie, Dylan even (supposedly) dropped a new single around the announcement. “Running Out The Clock” was (allegedly) recorded around the time of Dylan’s Infidels album in 1983, but hasn’t been released until now. Thank heaven the singer had this song chock full of football metaphors just sitting around, gathering dust on an archives shelf somewhere. Here’s hoping he’s got a bunch of old dance moves in storage, too.

I’d be a lot more interested in watching Beyoncé than Dylan. Never been much of a Dylan fan and though I’m not that much of a Beyoncé fan either, I’ve got lots of respect for her singing talent lip synching or no.
I can get into Dylan depending on what he's singing, and Beyonce is certainly easy on the eyes, but i'm just not into most newer soul/r&b, my tastes are more like golden age Motown... but i did catch Frank Ocean on SNL a few months ago and really liked his stuff.

Channel Orange is just a phenomenal album.

Maybe Odd Future should do the Super Bowl halftime show!

I really can't imagine watching the halftime show anyway. It's the worst.

You can say that again.
And I hear ya on the classic soul/R&B, when my son was a baby we used to rock him to sleep to old Motown mix CD.

All of those old acts just had a classiness about them that seems to be missing with most newer artists, imo.

Who cares about this... There are so many things to do during halftime that I can't imagine worrying about whatever washed-up singer they've coaxed away from the coffin to try to reclaim his/her youth... They all suck!

Want a halftime show I'll watch??? Get the Marine silent drill team back out there... That was awesome!

The hip-hop collective of which he is an adjunct member. Frank Ocean is definitely the most talented of the crew, and the only non-rapper, I think. Tyler the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt are pretty talented, too. But based on the crew's lyrical content and overall reputation, I'd put the odds at them ever having a Super Bowl halftime gig at about 1,000,000:1.
