Jeremiah Trotter thinks Andy Reid got out-coached in a lot of games

Jeremiah Trotter played a total of seven seasons for Andy Reid in three different stints with the Eagles. And he thinks he lost a lot of games because Reid got out-coached.

“If it came down to both teams were even, talent-wise,*I think the opponent’s team would win if it came down to coaching,” Trotter said on 97.5 The Fanatic, via Philly.com. “Andy Reid got out-coached in a lot of games, man, a lot of big games,” Trotter continued. “Time outs, running the football, you know.”

Trotter said Reid’s offensive style made things different for the defense and the late defensive coordinator Jim Johnson, who ran the defense in Philadelphia until his death in 2008.

“As a defense, we understood we passed the ball too much. You know, there’s times we’re sitting over there like, ‘Man, listen. Just get us a couple of first downs so we can get a break.’ And I’m sure it frustrated Jim Johnson also,” Trotter said

Still, Trotter acknowledges that he won a lot of games during his time with Reid, and he says he would have given Reid a 7.5 or 8 on a scale of 1-10. I shudder to think what he’d say about a coach who was a 1.
Good coaches don't get out coached in a lot of games.

Andy is one of the best coaches in the NFL. No matter the team, if there is an opening and Reid is available, that team would take him first over any coach but Bellicheck.

If he allowed someone else to call the plays and designate a coach to help with clock management, he would be a better coach but that being said......People need to remember our recent history, Gunther/Herm/Haley/Crennel etc. It could get a lot worse.

It could get worse. But more importantly, it looks like it isn't getting better.

While I agree with this, I believe this fits into the "True Fan" concept.. created here.. that is shunned for accepting "mediocrity" (as if being a top 5 AFC team lacking in playoff breaks is mediocre).. and you should be hoping for 0-16 every year, so long as you swing wildly for a Geno Smith.

Better to be a laughing-stock F team each year than be a B team that can't stay healthy and efficient in the postseason?

He isn't a "clutch" coach, and he needs a team that is to take him over the hump.
So, what I see here is that you say he isn't great...but kind of good, except in the clutch or in the playoffs?

The Chiefs have gotten plenty of breaks in the playoffs.

The entire game against Houston was one big break from the opening kickoff.

Against the Pats the only reason it was a game AT ALL was because they got a lucky break on that play that someone pulled out of his ass to Jason Avant.

Holding the Steelers to only field goals and getting a pick off a tipped pass in the end zone? Lotta breaks there, which someone failed to take advantage of.

A muffed punt? Huge break. Someone failed to take advantage.

You are full of ****ing shit as usual, Sandra.

Mahomes will make it better; the question is...will it be enough?

If 10-6 is your goal with playoff One and done the norm. Then by all means he’s your man. He’s a fatter version of Marty.

No threat to win it all but by golly he won’t ruin a lot of my Sundays and bbq. And that is ALL KC fan really cares about.

That's so depressing, only because it's just so true.

See, I can't tell if you're talking about Pioli/Cassel/Haley or Andy/Alex/Andy...

Jeremiah Trotter knows what was needed, it had nothing to do with breaks.
