So the Dr. says....
I am a major fatass and if I don't go on a ketogenic diet, I will have to go on medication. FWIW, my cardiologist also said I needed to go on a low carb diet. (My primary care physician was surprised a cardiologist would say that, but he was pleased.)

So....

Who here has gone on a keto/low carb diet?

What were the results? What were the good things about it, and what were the downsides?

Thanks for any input.

If you were eating 20 or less....you should have been dropping a ton of weight in the first two months.

It took me right at 3 weeks doing 20 or less but after that it really kicked in.

I think at the start I was so far overweight (I'm 5'7") and so lethargic it took a while to build up that metabolism.

And at the start I could eat a ton of chicken/steak/eggs and fill that stomach full. Loved it. Greatest diet ever.

After a while you wear those foods out and I think just out of boredom or being sick of the same thing I ate less of them slowly over time...
