I used to die laughing at some of the tags, they were fantastic and increased my enjoyment of the site immensely.

But nobody really used them for their intended purpose which is to help group similar threads together. It was mostly a way to be funny.

Some people became butthurt about what was written in some tags, and someone made fun of a member's chronic illness in one, and I think there got to be enough people crying about them that mods decided they were more trouble than they were worth because you couldn't police them without looking in the database to see who'd made a tag.
