Chiefs high on DGB

Chiefs | Chiefs high on Dorial Green-Beckham

Thu, 19 Feb 2015 19:11:25 -0800

University of Oklahoma WR Dorial Green-Beckham is drawing interest from the Kansas City Chiefs. "Physically, we think he has all the gifts in the world," Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said Thursday, Feb. 19. "We've all admired him. All of us who have been in the state of Missouri and the Kansas City area have seen him afar, have admired his physical traits. I think now what people want to do is get a feel for him as a person, see where he is at this state. Just see where he is, that's what we are doing. We will be meeting him in the next couple days and I look forward to it."

Fantasy Tip: Kansas City owns the No. 18 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, and Green-Beckham is projected as a potential first-round pick. He has all the physical tools but issues off the field make him a risk. However, the Chiefs haven't had a receiver catch a touchdown pass since 2013 so Green-Beckham could make a quick impact if he ends up in Kansas City

The apartment issue is really misunderstood.

First, a disclaimer: I am not excusing his actions, nor do I believe that Missouri was incorrect in kicking him off the team. However, I will say this: if not for the actions of other Missouri football and basketball players and the Menu Corey investigation, he's never kicked off the tam.

He went over to his gf's apartment late at night because he found out she was cheating on him with a teammate. He tried to get inside her apartment. Her roommate was in the way, and he pushed (not shoved) her out of the way. She fell down a single stair (not a flight, SNR) and strained her wrist breaking her fall.

I'll put it this way: if he played for FSU or Auburn he's a lock top five pick because no one ever hears or cares about these things because the cops likely dismiss them.
Exactly. And I'm starting to think we'd have to move up to get him.

Honestly, you and Duncan got me on the kid when he signed with Mizzou. And I lived here while he was still in high school. I'd heard of him, but you two got me excited about him.

Everything said here is accurate, based on what I've read and been told.

The second incident involved a HS friend he was visiting over intercession, who picked him up to hang out and happened to have about a pound of weed (and maybe a scale?) in the storage area of his SUV.

I was told the police were extremely satisfied with his version of events/general innocence in that incident, based on the stories from the 3 in the car (who were split up and interrogated separately and told the same story) and the phone/text records of DGB and the others.

You've nailed the final thing exactly as I heard it. I think if Alden hadn't had his boss in his office threatening his job over the Sasha Menu-Courey shit just a few weeks before, DBB plays his final year in Columbia and we're talking about him going in the top 10.

Where is the KOMU article?

His girlfriend said some things via text message about him grabbing her by the back of the neck (in the desperate text conversation with the roommate from the stairs), that I saw. Was there more than that in the KOMU piece?

Depends on how he jumps and how he runs on faster tracks (points for Hamas for reminding people this is a slower track)

Good point. Who this year has more physical tools and skill than he does though? Honest question. I followed college football for shit this year.

Physical tools? Probably no one. But a checkered off-field history + 1 year removed from football matters. Cooper, Parker and possibly even White will go before him.

I agree. I just personally like him more than others so I'm curious what the consensus is on who will go first. Him falling helps us as long as we're smart enough to Snatch him the **** up. He's from here. And KC will hopefully be far enough away from Springfield to keep him out of trouble. I could see him playing his entire career here and going down as the best WR in Chiefs history. Have I mentioned how big I am on this kid? Lol
