Royals vs White Sox (7/21)

I'd like to say I'm optimistic, but I'm not. We'll be lucky to score one run against Sale.

Man, I almost felt bad about turning this shit off and going to bed early last night.

Good to know the Royals did what they like to do.

I've been bailing on Royals games for about a month now. Some nights not even catching an inning. I'd of been glued to .500 ball 3 years ago, but I can't muster a **** anymore. It's sad when I see the Chiefs as a 7 win team this year and I'm still finding the addition of training camp news a refreshing change up from Royals talk.

I usually have the game on in the background while cooking dinner or doing whatever around the house at a bare minimum.

I suppose I'll just hand over the reigns to the wife and I can have a never ending stream of shit-bag sitcoms likes Big Bang Theory, Mike and Molly and 2 Broke Girls running in the background instead. Yay!

If you're lucky, maybe she'll spice those selections up with a little Dance Moms.

The team isn't enjoyable to watch in the slightest bit. I'm about as apathetic to the Royals right now as I was with the Chiefs toward the end of the Pioli era.

The parallels are there from my perspective.

It's hard to get excited about these Royals anymore.

Absolutely. The team is just plain boring to watch and have been like others here and have just found other things to do during the games. It's sad but I had the feeling before the season that it would turn out like this. I mean we needed career years from Perez, Escobar, Moose, Cain and Hosmer to really have a chance at the division, so it was hard for me to think all of that would happen when really none of those guys have even shown that they can get on base consistently throughout their young careers.

Starts with GMDM and carries over to Yost.

1 of them if not some combination is responsible for the culture of complacency on this team. No accountability=players who don't give a ****.

I have to say Yost bears a slight more bit of the blame unless Moore is flat out setting the lineup every night. Yost kept\keeps running Butler out there night after night and not even a brief benching of him for a few games has happened, despite his terrible performance.

Escobar has yet to have a game off, Cain gets benched too often and to top it all off, somehow he thought batting Valencia in the #4 spot was a good idea.

That being said you have to look at GMDM and using the excuse of "Aoki was already on the team" for not signing Cruz after his price dropped. His hit-miss ratio on draft picks has been horrid as well.

Then you have the combo of GMDM\Yost on the entire hitting coach fiasco. Neither of these guys apparently know how to win. FFS, Yost is the onl ymanager in the history of baseball outside of a strike year, to get fired from a team in the middle of a playoff hunt in August!!!!!

As a small business owner that to me was inexcusable it'd be like me knowing that a sales rep for my competition got fired for stupidity but thinking I'll hire him and give him another chance or thinking I can change him.

In the minds of the Royals, this season has been a success, because they've managed to stay somewhat relevant into July. While I'll admit that is modest progress compared to the normal state of affairs over the past 29 years, .500 is nothing to hang your hat on. If that's maxing out on potential, then we need to blow it up and start a new (sigh) five year plan. I mean really, what's the difference if we suck for 30 years or 35 years?

Hell remember last year when they said they felt like they won the WS

Welp, those are the times my teams are performing upgrades, so I'm usually monitoring those and "the game" is background noise in the office.

That being said, I might find new background noise. Then again, at this point, it's almost "sport" watching this team fail and fail again, give us the same worn-out sound bites, and make promises for the never-to-be-seen future.

If we decide to fly the banner, I'm in! If nothing else, just to see the team's/Glass' reaction.
