De Anthony Thomas ready to Roll

Chiefs | De'Anthony Thomas set to debut

Fri, 03 Oct 2014 21:10:35 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) is expected to make his regular season debut in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers after missing the first four games due to a hamstring injury. Special teams coach Dave Toub is reasonably confident Thomas will perform well in a punt-return role. "We got him back there enough where he had to make some catches, he made some people miss, he got hit one time and spun out and got a touchdown," Toub said. "He's got a little bit on tape, so people know about him

Hammond has like 1 catch, 2 drops ... 13 returns for 130 yards. Allowing punts to bounce all over the place.

What exactly has he done well?

Reid starting using a formation(3 TEs on his side) just to protect Harris

Maybe they can become something. Harris sure has the physical tools but not sure what's with the indignant protection of them.

Hammond has 0 catches the past couple of games and DAT did obviously a much more explosive and natural punt returner than him. Wtf are you talking about?

I think he's saying Hammond did a fine job filling in as PR. We lead the league in 20+ yard punt returns thanks to Him. and also we all are on the same page the DAT is the MAN.

Hopefully while the D is now focused on Kelce, Thomas will break open for some big plays.

Well welcome to the goddamn game, guys. Thanks for actual feedback.

My defense of Hammond has to do entirely with his punt return duties, which have been very strong. And seeing how that's really the only reason we have DAT right now, I don't see the big deal is scuttling Hammond off the field.

As for Harris... reasonable minds can differ. But we have had a trainwreck, patchwork OL that is finally starting to gel, and we're going up against perhaps the toughest DL we'll face all year.
