Need more proof that Walterfootball.com hates the Chiefs?

I present to you the backwards mock draft. #32 gets to pick at #1 and so forth. We pick 10th........ANDDDDDDDDDDDD........

10. Taylor Lewan , OT , Michigan
The Chiefs used a first-round pick on a tackle last April, but remember who's calling the shots. Andy Reid loves to bolster the trenches, and with Branden Albert gone, there's an opening at the right tackle position, as Eric Fisher is shifting over to the blind side.

* I'd like to know why it is that Stephenson couldn't then slide inside to the massive RG hole, and be very good there after a full offseason of work.

I'm not "trying to force" Lewan on you... we're just talking here. Of course, Stephenson has been decent showing what he's got at OT... but has he been so impressive that sliding in wouldn't be beneficial to the offense? After watching all the games closely over the year, I'd say he's not at all beyond reproach.

Best 5 on the field, right? His (DS) best spot probably is at OT.. but if Lewan can be every bit as good at RT... and Stephenson can be a good replacement for the hole at RG.. then maybe you have an OL that can progress well together by September... and you have another good option at OT in case of injuries. The knocks I read here or there state that (when a prospect) DS needed to get stronger. Can anyone say that after years in an NFL program, he did not?

Because, as it has been stated, Stephenson is a natural offensive tackle. He's got extremely long arms, quick feet, a very good kick step and the athleticism to quickly pick up and react to smaller pass rushers moves. Wasting that skill set by moving him inside is, frankly, stupid.

And he's better than Lewan.

If you draft Lewan, he's better suited to move inside than Stephenson is.

You are drafting Lewan to be your RG versus putting him outside and Stephenson inside.

People thought it was stupid to put Alex Boone at RG.... I assure you.. it is those people who are feeling rather stupid now.

Boone's overall game, athletic skills and footwork were more suited to inside the phone booth work versus the edge despite his overall length. He would have had problems adjusting the NFL level at either tackle position.

Stephenson is an extremely athletic player with excellent footwork. I have no doubt that if he stayed for his senior year that he would have been among the top tackles taken in the 2013 draft. (He was significantly better than Lane Johnson on the same OU team who was taken 4th overall in 2013.) Stephenson has every trait that elite level tackles have. Personally, I think that the Chiefs stole him in the draft very much in the same manner as they did Jamaal Charles. Like Charles, he just needed to see the field, work in the system to fully exploit his prodigious skill set for the position.

He is in no way shape or form like Alex Boone. You don't waste the skill set of a guy like Stephenson and put him in the phone booth.

He is a better offensive tackle prospect than Lewan as he will be equally effective on either side of the ball, where Lewan is more of a true RT type of player and a guy like Eric Fisher is more of a true LT type of player.

Personally, I think that the Chiefs have in their possession two bookend tackles that have the potential to be as good as anyone in the league at their positions.

What they need, and don't have, is a mauling guard who can absolutely drive block the shit out of people, but is athletic enough to get into that second level. Having a power guy inside of either Fisher and Hudson or Stephenson and Hudson would be a real boon to this team. A guy like what Detroit stole last year in Larry Warford. A guy like Gabe Jackson in this years draft.

However, Gabe Jackson will be gone by the second round. Now, I was hoping that a guy like Baylor's Cyril Richardson would be there for the Chiefs in the third round, but he put in work, lost weight and had a monster pro day. He, like Jackson, might be gone by the time the Chiefs get their third round pick.

The other guy who I really like for the Chiefs in that guard spot is Stanford's Cameron Fleming, who, like Jackson and Richardson, is a massive dude with pretty decent agility who projects into the booth at the next level. Most likely a fourth rounder.

^ you may have it right, Sac. Sure looks to me like Stephenson gained some lbs and power since being evaluated as a prospect. So I don't think he would be ill suited or wasted playing inside... but that's for us to wildly speculate on.

Most garbage of garbage....

23. Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA
It sounds like the Chiefs want to take a guard with their first pick after trading down. Xavier Su'a-Filo or David Yankey would make sense for Kansas City.

Su'a-Filo picked up in 2013 where he left off the previous year. The 6-foot-4, 307-pounder was rock solid for the UCLA in the run game and in pass protection. While the rest of the Bruins' offensive line had some struggles in 2013, Su'a-Filo's blocking in the pass game was steady for Brett Hundley. Because of injuries, Su'a-Filo had to play some left tackle. He did a decent job there, but his NFL future is at guard.

Su'a-Filo was a force for UCLA in 2012. He had an excellent season as a run-blocker for Johnathan Franklin. Su'a-Filo also was good at providing Brett Hundley with a clean pocket. Su'a-Filo started at left guard and chipped in some time at left tackle because of injuries. He was named a First-Team All-Pac-12 pick by the coaches and media publications.

Su'a-Filo was out of football in 2010 and 2011 while serving on a Mormon mission. Bruins head coach Jim Mora, Jr. made it an immediate priority to recruit Su'a-Filo back to UCLA. He set a Bruins record in 2009 with 13 starts at left tackle. The true freshman was an honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection and was on numerous All-Freshman teams.

87. Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU
Kansas City could use a replacement for Tyson Jackson.

Johnson (6-2, 308) replaced Michael Brockers in LSU's starting lineup for 2012 and played well. The sophomore totaled 30 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss, three sacks and one pass broken up. TCU started this year off by double-teaming Johnson with a guard and center on virtually every snap. He still caused some disruption and totaled four tackles with a tackle for a loss.

In 2013, Johnson notched 35 tackles with nine tackles for a loss, three sacks and an interception. He has a great skill set and is very explosive. Johnson has a lot of upside, but hasn't produced up to his potential. He is too inconsistent and disappears for stretches.

124. Vinnie Sunseri, S, Alabama
The Chiefs could use a safety to pair with Eric Berry.

Sunseri recorded 20 tackles, a tackle for a loss, four passes broken up and two interceptions returned for touchdowns in 2013. A knee injury in late October ended his season. While being a good run-defender, Sunseri still needs to work on his pass coverage and ability to play in the deep part of the field. In 2012, he had 52 tackles (34 solo) and six tackles for a loss.

163. Robert Herron, WR, Wyoming

The Chiefs lost Dexter McCluster in free agency and could use a weapon to replace him.

Herron (5-9, 193) isn't the biggest of receivers, yet he had a solid career for Wyoming. His best season came as a senior with 72 receptions for 937 yards and nine touchdowns. In 2012, Herron had 31 catches for 657 yards and eight scores. He helped himself at the Senior Bowl and ran a fast 40 at the Combine.

KC uses their FS to play deep a majority of the time? Let's mock them a guy who sucks at it. KC signed a replacement for Jackson in FA? Let's mock them a replacement in the 3rd round.

****ing morons.

Pretty much. I valued Walter and his work for years but have found myself visiting his site much less than in the past because he has serious issues with the CHIEFS.

I get the Walter has to update this thing every week for all 32 teams, but Jesus Christ. The guy ****ing sucks.

He probably went over to bleacher report, looked at a list of free agent departures, couldn't recall any big names the Chiefs signed, and started plugging in names based on what he perceived to be holes.

None of these draft projections are based on a big board at all. They're all what he thinks of to be team need. And the "team need" is based solely on position. None of it has anything to do with personnel or player type.

Awhile ago all he mocked to us were Jon Baldwin-type WRs. Now it's the same shit with safeties.

**** that guy.

Quick question. If the top 4 WRs are gone, would you guys be mad if we took Bradley Roby?
