2015 Fantasy Discussion

Drafts coming up in a couple weeks, and I haven't seen a thread yet.

Was wanting to get some input overrated players/sleepers/strategies etc.

I've been going back and forth on what I want to do with my 2nd rounder. I've done a few mocks, and I really want to take Luck in the 2nd.. but I just can't seem to get as good of a team that route.

Also for the later 1st round who do you take out of CJ Anderson, Jeremy Hill, and Demarco Murray? To me its between Murray and CJ.. Leaning towards Murray. I don't think there will be a huge dropoff for him this year like everyone else seems to think

Not a huge sleeper, but I've been taking Jordan Matthews in just about every mock. I think he is going to have a HUGE year and he will be great value. Even Agholor should be a good late pick. Also Martavis Bryant. I think they finally found the guy to take some pressure off of Antonio Brown. Lastly I like Ameer Abdullah.. he should be a great fit in that offense, and I saw that Bell is going to start the season on the PUP

Methinks he picked around 10ish in the first round and the first six picks were McCoy, Miller, Hopkins, Maclin, Brees, Bennett

I think it's a middle of the pack team. It's not likely one of the best, but certainly not one of the worst. With a touch of luck you can make the playoffs and then who the heck knows what can happed.

I think Maclin gets more targets.

Reid often gets too pass heavy and that was without having one of his favorite guys on roster. There's also a much better situation at QB in KC...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Obviously its always a toss-up so who knows, but I can’t even figure out who you took where. Was it 1) McCoy, 2) Miller, 3) Brees?

Okay, so here is my general analysis, pick-by-pick, of your first 11 picks.

1) McCoy - I don't love him, and I'm not sure he just bounces back to 2013 form. But, with Jackson leaving, the path opened up for him to get more carries. Not a bad value although it seems a little high for him.

2) Miller - I rode this hype train last year, so to quote George W, "fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." This is about the right spot for him to be drafted though.

3) Brees - I'm okay with this, and you know your league. It seems a bit high for QB, and I consider the 3-6 ranked QBs to be all pretty similar. But, okay.

4) Maclin - Seems a bit high.. maybe a bit of a homer pick? But, I think he will exceed general expectations.

5) Hopkins - Love this pick here though. Great value.

6) Bennett - No one gets excited about Bennett, but this is the right spot for him and he will produce. Sexiness of pick - 0, Functionality of pick - 8.

7) Cruz - Would have rather seen a bigger upside play, like Charles Johnson, Eddie Royal. Just to take a swing at the fences.

8) Blount - Fair pick here, but is the clear backup. I would have preferred another swing at the fences with someone like Martin, Gurley, Vereen, Bell. I have even seen Foster fall this far.

9) Colston - Again, he is likely not really the starter and is a bit boom-and-bust at 32.

10) Jackson - I liked this pick here, before he got cut of course.

11) Chiefs - Homer pick.. I took Chiefs last round in my 14-person, 15-round draft.

So, in general, I don't think it deserves a C- grade, but I would take more chances in the later rounds. And, I think you had a few homer picks.

Keep your eyes on the waiver wire, as there should be lots there for you with the short bench and only 12 persons.

If you want to post some of the RBs and WRs available on the wire, maybe there are some good ones you would want to grab right now?

I need some serious help at rb here. Remember I can't pick up or drop any players.

Big Ben
Megatron
Odell Beckham
Maclin
Agholor
Hyde
Latavius Murray

I need more rb help and that's all that's left.

Graham and Kelce, and then the dumpster fire behind Alfred Morris at RB? You were drunk man. Try to move a QB or TE to upgrade a RB or WR.

That is non-ppr I assume?

I would look at Tre Mason and Matt Jones.

If it was PPR, I think alot of those remaining RBs would already have been swooped up.

I still would look at Darren Sproles, and I haven't really looked at Reggie Bush enough to have an educated decision I guess.

Again.. boom or bust players.

I am pretty damn drunk by the last third of my drafts too and often have a "what the ..." moment in the morning.. definitely been there.

I actually don't DOUBT Cameron Artis-Payne. I wrote his name down and did some research on him as well after watching a couple of the Panther's preseason games. He looks good.

I like him and I like the home run (or foul) swing for your RB4 or RB5. It's amazing how many people choose RB's like Bernard Pierce, Fozzy Whitaker, or Daniel Thomas in those late rounds. We know their ceiling already. Especially true of many late taken WR's. Take a swing on a total chance at zero or breakthrough. Not like you will be starting the RB4, RB5, WR4, or WR5 anytime soon.
