Top Video Game of all time...

I've been wanting to do this for a while now. Let's do a "Rainman type" poll or two.

Please suggest your ideas for the best game of all time. The news that we might finally get a new Red Dead Redemption game inspired me to do this.

In my opinion, RDR is probably it. However, that's not really fair. I absolutely love several other games but I don't know if I've ever played anything as much as RDR. Maybe Bloodborne or Witcher 3 but it's close.
I'll start us off with a few:

1. Red Dead Redemption
2. Witcher 3
3. Call of Duty; Modern Warfare (I did like the first 2)
4. Grand Theft Auto V
5. Bloodborne

There's a few to get us running. I'll give you guys a few days, maybe a week and we'll start voting.

Doom wasn't a video game. It was a way of life, and it dominated people's attention for YEARS.

You can't ignore its place in video game history.

Christ, the newest Doom is amazing to play by itself. But the old one is still hella fun.

Everquest was revolutionary to MMORPG. It was the first to put players in a 3D world and without it WoW would have never been born.

Both PS2 but I don't care. I loved those games and spent many an hour playing and replaying them when we I first got married and we were just coming up in the world (broke). Even played them on the PS3, when it would still play PS2 games.

Do you remember the taser in syphon filter? that thing was nuts lol. I think it had unlimited range. You could lock onto a targets and if you held it down for a 5-10 seconds the guy would burst into flames

for folks in this thread - I picked up this hard back book at Urban Outfitters called "1001 video games you must play before you die".

It really is a great and comprehensive list, starting with the pong era, and going up through about 2012-2013ish.

Book is mammoth, and has at least a page, sometimes two for each game (with glossy/color photos).

Fun read.
