For anyone that might know the area, I'm looking for recommendations around Deckers/Buffalo Creek. Can't get our normal spot so we would like to try something else in the area. Don't need all the amenities, just want a campground up in the mountains.

I've never camped in the area (we camp near Aspen and Jefferson), but if you do find one, definitely do the hike up to Devil's Head.

Sorry, can't help you much with that one. I generally float around and don't go to the same area twice, so I only have very basic experiences with different areas, and I haven't done much at all in the southern area of the state.

Find trees, set up tent.

Why would you continually go to the same spot? I've camped probably 100+ times in CO and rarely ever go to the same place twice.

Now if you provide more info, I can be of more assistance.
