Anybody Watching The Grammys?

When Jethro Tull won the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance years back it kinda ruined it for me.

I wasn't sure if I was going to watch the Grammys this year but I heard the Black Keys are gonna play and I like them.

The musicians I know think the Grammys are a joke. Sort of a popularity contest.

Nothing else is on.

And here I am thinking I like a group that is under the radar. Ended up happening with FUN too I guess although I wouldn't say I like them. Did like their song from Glee til it blew up. Getting in before the storm doesn't happen often with me since I am not a huge music guy. Usually just eat whatever the mainstream is shoving down my face save for rare occasions. I still have only heard one M and S song on mainstream radio. My favorites from their prior album and even this will probably not end up there.

Will have to listen to more Avett Brothers. Heard a few but they were slower songs. Liked them but they seemed a little different. Overall I was pretty happy with the songs that were chosen to be played this year. More songs with actual effort and thought put into them. Gotta be happy that some of these bands are getting attention even if there are others beyond them that deserve it.

Watching ...

Bruno Mars with Sting gave me goosebumps. That whole number was fantastic stuff. Again, I have hope for the first time in many a year.

By the way, not sure where she's been, but if you ever get a chance to see K.T. Tunstell in concert, go. She's amazing live.

I thought the show was better than normal.

They packed in more music by having the presenter perform before giving the award.

They also did some different mixtures of people playing together.

less Rap is always good

I loved the "Walking on the Moon" section, but they sorta boogered up the chorus. The drummer did a surprisingly good job with it.
