Flight/Space Sim flight sticks...

I'm currently considering the:

Saitek x52 Pro
Saitek X56 HOTAS
Thrustmaster VG T.16000M FCS HOTAS (releases Nov 1)

I wish to spend no more than $250 for the set up and will be primarily playing Star Citizen with it. Perhaps some flight sim as well.

that used to by my hobby for a good solid 2 years. I would 'fly' all the time. quite enjoyable actually. then we moved three times, and it just sort of fell by the wayside. we're hoping to move this time next year, and at that point is when I'd like to have a dedicated little space for it.
Now that I have something a bit nicer than the HotasX... I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get into some sort of flight sim myself.

I think I'm gonna spend time in DCS World as one of the free aircraft you get with the free game is the SU-25 Frogfoot which is the aircraft that my flight stick is modeled after!

I went ahead and purchased the X55 Throttle as well. LOVE all the pots.

Did/do you have the footpedal setup as well? I've tried them in the past but I just can't get used to them.

I still love MSX. I have binders full of approach plates and kneecards/checklists (pre flight, landing, etc) for quite a few common aircraft on the sim.

I have Saitek gear, yoke and throttle, and the radio /electronics switching for a Cesna 72.
Ace Combat 7 is the closest thing you'll get. Though it's not your typical true simulator, it's geared more towards an arcade game, but it's fighter jet simulation game and there isn't (or won't be) a better console fighter jet game out there.

Supposedly will come out sometime 2017 - VR capability.

Wonder if it will have flight stick controls with the VR? That would make it a lot cooler.

No rudder pedals foR me, never got there. There's some pretty cool flight sim builds on you tube that give great ideas for a cheap sim. Even mounting keyboard overhead for cockpit switching, and change out the keys or put on stickers. Some even you can order plans to build them for pretty reasonable if I remember correctly. Would love to have a ranch house with a big ass basement and build one down there.

I'm sick like that...I actually enjoyed learning the flight planning (VOR/IFR INSTEAD OF JUST GPS) simulating failures, startup procedures, ground. Clearance, taxi, etc. man, I miss it, now that I think about it. Lol

A friend of mine has the full Warthog setup, with rudder pedals. It's so unbelievably amazing. He plays just about every flight sim that comes out so it's worth it for him.

On a side note, I've been hearing nothing but good things about the new Gladiator stick. If anyone has used one, I would love to hear your thoughts.

I spent some time on r/hotas and they had good things to say about its precision and quality of build but they did not seem to be fond of the seemingly afterthought throttle control and the rather spartan amount of buttons available for your thumb.
