Life Living in Phoenix Arizona - Page 8

Me and my wife are planning on moving to Phoenix sometime this year. I was wondering if you could tell me the best places to live there. We are just tired of the weather in Kansas City and want out. We can deal with the blistering heat.

I never thought the 'dry heat' thing was possible. but I lived in Lemoore CA for 3.5 years and it was always hot as F in the summer. thougn, 'dry'.

when I finally came home, I did so in August. I had to stop and get gas in Lawrence, and stepped outside and nearly died. The humidity was killing me and it was only about 30%.

It gets as hot in KC as it does in Florida in the summer. The only difference is that it will cool off the feels like 100 degree temps for a week or two in the summer.

I worked in Atlanta for a few months and it wasn't so much the hot and humid days, but how the humidity ruined the nice days, too.... the ~60 degree mornings in the early spring were still really muggy. Yeah, hot and humid is the same suck here or in Florida, but the humidity isn't nearly as noticeable here when it's not 85+ (at least for me).

I've been to Florida in the late fall and winter, and it's great... but, then there's the other 8-9 months of the year when people in Florida aren't bragging about the weather every chance they get....

Not so much; have friends who have bikes but don't ride during the summer because going 65 in 108 degree temp is killer.

I've been all over AZ and Phoenix is tied with Tuba City as my least favorite places in the state. Move to Jerome and just do your fancy, big-city stuff in Sedona.

Did anyone mention PHX averages 100 triple digit days a year? **** that noize!!!

I can't claim much knowledge here except to say buckeye used to be out of town but is now part of town due to sprawl. Verrado I think can offer you a large house for the dollar but I don't know if it's one of those communities where your neighbor is five feet away and can see through your windows. There are a lot of those out here...
