*** 2018 Prospect Tracker: Chiefs Interest / Visits / Work Outs ***

Annnnd another playoff run, and a winning season has us drafting at the tail end of each round, except this year, we *currently* don't have a 1st round pick.

This is the 7th year in a row that we will be tracking the college players the Chiefs have publicly or privately expressed interest in leading up to the NFL Draft.

Here's how we did in 2017. We've done better in the previous years, but not so much last year, one of the many reasons I was slow to start one this year. After a few DM's, I decided to do it again as we run up to the final month.

For those who are new, the way this operates is that we collectively monitor various social media sources, blogs, articles and reports for news of the Chiefs' interest in a certain player. When posted in this thread, I will update the OP to include the player. *Please provide the link to the article, the players name, position and team.

I am going to try to link to player profiles when they exist, courtesy of draftbreakdown.com, or the NFL Draft Tracker. For some of the lesser-known guys, it may just be a random video or profile from their team website.

Let's meet some of our future Chiefs:

Former Mizzou offensive guard Adam Ploudre will workout with the Chiefs on Friday, per a source. It’s the Chiefs' Local Pro Day.

Siran Neal was likely the real draw at the Jacksonville State pro day. Former corner converted to safety with formidable coverage skills.

These TE's are pretty "meh." Haven't watched a ton of tape on these other positions yet, either, though.

For those who follow this more closely, what names on this list should get me/us excited?

Makes sense; had him on the list already.

Maybe we're really focused on him?

My issue with this TE class is that the good ones will likely be over-drafted. The top talents project to be average starters and each with a bit of warts to their game, namely an inability to in-line block.

The pass catchers are just that - they do little to no blocking and are flex/slot alignment guys: Goedert, Gesicki, Thomas, etc.
The in-line guys don’t seem to have a lot of receiving threat upside.

I like Goedert a lot, but I think KC needs a more versatile guy who can factor in the run game. If I’m KC, I try to get Marcedes Lewis on a cheap one year deal. They investigated Ben Watson, so maybe that is a sign they are not enamoured with what the draft presents in terms of value/versatility, but they have met with a number of TE draft prospects...

If we don’t get a safety on day 2, I love Neal in the 4th.

Have any thoughts about the rest of the guys in this list?

I want to know who I should be excited about from this group of guys.
