I will never forget! My son was four months old. I had just gotten out of the shower. My son lay on the bed with the t.v. on, my phone starts ringing and it is Clint asking if I had seen the news yet, standing there talking to him I watch in disbelief as a plane crashed into the second tower. I stood there speechless looking at the t.v. thinking I must be watching an Arnold movie.
Clutching on to my newly born son, we sat watching the reports of what was unfolding. Suddenly, the third plane crashed into the Pentagon. I spent the remainder of the day holding onto my son and crying. I talked to every person that meant a great deal to me. Wondering if this was it, or what else was going to happen. When the plane went down in Pennsylvania, I started cheering, knowing that we will get our revenge on the bastards that dare invade our land. Then three years later, I am more sadden then the day the towers fell. We have yet to seek and conquer the revenge that I think is due. If people still think that they can enter a school and due the harm that has been inflicted, then our job is very far from being done. I will never forget the day the twin towers fell and what caused them to fall. I am sure that most will never forget.

The week after 9/11 one of the first MLB games was broadcast on ESPN, and it was in St. Louis, and their late, great radio announcer Jack Buck read this poem in front of a national audience... I'll never forget sitting there watching him read this before the game.
----------- God, more than 200 years ago, We've been the bastion of Freedom... The light which keeps the free world Aglow. We do not covet the possesions of Others, we are blessed with the Bounty we share. We have rushed to help other Nations...anything...anytime... Anywhere. War is just not our nature... we Won't start, but we will end the fight. If we are involved we shall be Resolved to protect what we know is Right. We've been challenged by a Cowardly foe who strikes and then Hides from our view. With one voice we say there's no Choice today, there is only one Thing to do. Everyone is saying the same thing And praying that we end these Senseless moments we are living. As our fathers did before, we shall Win this unwanted war. And our children will enjoy the Future, we'll be giving. |

At the college I go to not a single teacher or student mentioned it, for the 2nd year in a row. I understand the subject may be delicate but to not say anything at all pissed me off...

I will never forget. I will never forgive. The images of that day are etched in my mind. I was still in bed procrastinating getting up to take my daughter to school when she came in and told us what was going on. I spent the whole day watching the news flipping from station to station.

I can't forget that day, as many have said, it will be burned in my memory for ever.
I woke up at my normal time and walked into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee before heading downstairs for a 9:30 am Salina time conference call with clients in NY and DC. Ms. Llama was screaming at me to look at the tv... My eyes focused just enough to watch the second plane fly into the tower. In the confusion of the moment, knowing how many people worked in the WTC, when the towers collapsed, all that was going through my head was "I just watched some bastard kill more Americans than live in Salina...." Fear rose, Anger Swelled, and the rest of the day alternated between watching TV and attempting to contact the clients, who thankfully were ok, but unable to communicate for obvious reasons...

I remember deep and abiding anger, I still feel it.
Bless our mens in arms who are doing there duty as US men have done for generations. Bless the families who have suffered loss due to the tragedy and the aftermath. And damn the raghead terrorists and their supporting bretheren, may they rot in hell forever. |

I watched a show last night on HBO "In memoriam" was the name I believe. I called the family in and I had my nine year old son and 5 year old daughter come in to watch it. I still am not sure if that was the correct thing to do. The most gripping images for me were some still pics that a guy took on the way down the stairs of one of the buildings. You can see and feel the terror, but in some of the pics you see a fireman headed in the other direction up the stairs, by himself. The courage of those men that day is truly undescribable.

I'll never forget.
Its sad that today seemed just like a normal day to most, and thats a good sign, but we should never forget. Tomorrow I'll be singing "There She Stands" a Michael W Smith song about September 11th at Church, I've also put together a powerpoint to show the images of 9-11. |

As most of you folks know that I am a assistant coach at Tabor in Kansas. After the pre-game coin toss and the captains came back into the locker room, I gave the USA flag to our defensive captain (If you guys can recall, it's about the size that Eric Warfield brought to the game in 2001, only a little bigger in terms of size), and when Tabor took the field, the defensive captain waved the flag with joy and pride. And the rest of the players huddled together, holding the flag as high as they can. I yelled at them, "Remember who you are! This is such a beautiful country we live in! God Bless America!"
