Andy won't ever get fired unless the team completely implodes.

The Hunt family saw what happened when the let Marty Shottenheimer go and won't do that again. They would rather go 10-6, be 1 and done in the playoffs for the rest of their lives than take the risk of sucking again. Andy Reid is Marty's fat,younger brother and will be the Chiefs' HC for as long as he wants.

It's not like another team isn't going to give you an opportunity if you stay aboard with your guaranteed money for a season and then get cut. NFL teams are always desperate for QBs.

That makes no sense.

Kaepernick's only motivation right now is keeping his current salary.

Peyton was the old Peyton at the end of the game vs us week 2. You won't see Kaepernick going 80 yards at the end of the game with his arm.

Whatever, if Sutton blitzes the hell out of Manning in the 1st half he doesn't have the chance to go 80 for the win.

Because he can still get cut by either team. Only in one scenario, he isn't guaranteed as much money for that single season.

I get that. But at least in Denver he has some control over his future. In SF he's going to be stuck somewhere he doesn't want to be and he'll have no shot of keeping his $100M contract.

There is no way he's going to get a contract anywhere close to the one he has if he's rotting on the bench in SF. He'll get cut, sign a one year deal somewhere, and then be a 30 year old FA.

Denver is the best place in the league for him to salvage his career.

Anyone that thinks the Denver defense can get as lucky as they did last year is stupid. They still have a solid team but it won't dominate like it did and it won't get the luxury of playing a bunch of broke team in the end.

The real question for them is motivation. It's a major reason teams find it hard to repeat. I doubt their start players are truly motivated to work as hard.

San Francisco and Denver have the parameters of an agreement in principle on a trade for Colin Kaepernick, sources said, but before any deal can be completed, the quarterback and the Broncos still have to agree on a restructured contract, and the two sides have not been close. Kaepernick and the Broncos continue talking, trying to see if they can bridge their contractual differences, sources said. Kaepernick is due to make $11.9 million in base salary this season and has a $15.9 million salary cap number for 2016. The Broncos want a much friendlier cap number and contract, and need to see whether they can get it. Kaepernick and Broncos executive vice president of football operations/general manager John Elway have met at least once, as the San Francisco Chronicle reported, trying to see if the two sides can work out their differences. The agreement on trade compensation between Denver and San Francisco will not be an issue in any potential trade for Kaepernick, sources said.
