Overreaction Planet

It took a perfect storm for us to lose by one point to the team with the second best record in the AFC last night. SB teams lose games (almost) every year. We have been hanging around 18% chance to win the SB all year. It will in all likelihood end in disappointment. This was always true.

Bottomline is we weren't as good as some of you thought before this game and we are better than some of you think afterwards. In either case, expect to walk away from this season without a SB victory. Play the long game.

When you've had 5 or 6 'perfect storms' in the past 5 years, you might have built your home in the Bermuda Triangle.

This is the year when we were supposed to be letting Mahomes learn, while next year was supposed to be the year we actually had some draft capital and cap space to build around him.

I still think we've got as much of a shot as anyone at the Super Bowl this year, but it's just really, really hard. But be patient. We'll get there, and soon.

Hey, I was as pissed off as anyone yesterday. I just try and force myself to remember that this season has been a blast. The NFL season ends in disappointment for all but one team.

Yeah, when I was coming into the season I was thinking that I didn’t want to get blown out and I wanted some wow throws from Mahomes.

I’m trying to get myself back there but damn it’s hard

You're missing the part where the only part that was supposed to not be ready is the only part that's ready.

The thing is, seedy, people REALLY thought this team was going to the Super Bowl.

I didn't see them losing a game at Arrowhead.

The shine came off.

I think we went from an exception to the Chiefs rule in a lot of people's minds to just another fatally flawed team.

That hurts.

This game just reeks of the 2015-2017 CHIEFS. . (prob can go back as far as 1970-2017 Chiefs)

I think after the Ravens we thought we were past that stage and evolved as a team..last night we showed we have not. . at least for one game..

If fans weren't able to see that this team's defense was a fatal flaw before last night, I'd have serious concerns as to whether they've ever seen professional football before.

The truth is that this place is a bipolar rapid cycler. When the Chiefs win in Seattle next week, and they will, this place will crown them. The Chiefs have a bad defense, but their offense is good enough to overcome anything. This isn't the 2003 Chiefs that lost to teams like the Bengals or lost by four TDs to the Vikings, or the 1995 team that won almost all its coinflips and got bludgeoned by a mediocre Browns team.

They've beaten three of their five likely playoff opponents already, and lost to two of them by a total of four points. They can lose because every team can lose in a one game sample of a sport that isn't ridiculously imbalanced (like college FB). Teams can beat Mahomes and teams can come in to Arrowhead and win. But no team wants to have to. That's as much as you can hope for in pro football.
