Mike Smith was 1-4 in the playoffs in Atlanta and was 10-22 in his last two years with the Falcons despite having one of the best offenses in the league.

Also Atlanta's defense was never ranked higher than 12th in yards per game during Mike Smith's HC tenure (Mike Smith's alleged area of expertise).

Yet some dumbshits think he is a good HC candidate.

These are the same dumbshits who also think that Jacksonville is a more attractive job for potential HC's than San Diego because the Chargers "barely have any fans".

Jacksonville's fan support is so pathetic, they willingly give up home games to play in London every year.

And this! Jaguars also hiring their former HC Tom Coughlin as Executive VP of Football Operations, per source. Marrone and Coughlin in Jax.

Both. Retread to bring respectability quickly, and a rookie in the wings learning and preparing.

The Broncos moved aggressively to hire Vance Joseph as their 16th head coach on Wednesday morning, reaching an agreement on four-year deal, according to multiple sources. Joseph emerged as the favorite after a four-hour interview Tuesday and a long dinner at general manager John Elway's Cherry Creek restaurant. The Broncos told Joseph to cancel his flight to San Diego, a clear indication of their desire to finalize a deal Wednesday at Dove Valley.

Joseph served as Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator this past season. He first impressed the Broncos two years ago when they interviewed him for the job that went to Gary Kubiak. Joseph carried that momentum into his week, beating out candidates Atlanta offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and Kansas City coordinator Dave Toub.

So Vance Joseph is with the Broncos. Sean McDermott (DC Panthers) is going to take over in Buffalo. Rumor is Anthony Lynn (OC Bills) to the Chargers and McVay (OC Redskins) to the Rams.

"Anthony Lynn's job to lose...."

Then he lost it. Buffalo is just weird. But hey, if the guy that coordinated that...uh...interesting Buffalo offense is who takes over in San Diego, I'm fine with that.

Any time you can take a guy from a dysfunctional organization and tab him to lead yours, you'd really be irresponsible not to do it.

As I mentioned in a related thread, Anthony interviewed for every single opening but is likely headed to Chargers, which is such a Chargers thing to do: Hire the least liked candidate out of the bunch.

Good work, Spanos family.

And you wonder why the city and county of San Diego won't built shit for your team.

If I were the Chargers.....I'd be bringing Kyle Shannahan in to be my HC and see about getting Phillips to be my DC.

I agree but Shanahan is smarter than to take a job for the Spanos family.

Twitter keeps reporting that Wade ends up with the Rams if McVay gets the gig, which will help to be competitive while McVay gets Goff up to speed.
