I think the biggest issue is the Bucs never made a big investment at QB (iirc) until he was gone. Was it his fault? I'm not sure.

He did the same thing in Tampa as he did in Oakland: Recommend Bruce Allen and create another version of the "Over The Hill Gang".

It took the Raiders 14 years to recover and the Bucs haven't been in the playoffs since a 2007 WC loss to the Giants.

They lost in the WC round in 2005, too.

Gruden sucks.

I think he's okay and would keep people interested in a shitty team and would pull em out of the abyss.

Is he the top choice? No, not at all. I'd choose him over shit like Josh McDaniels, though.

I also think we will really find out what the raiders are. playing a 3/4th place schedule. Did they beat anyone with a winning record?

If Elway was smart he'd bring Haley in as HC because of his hatred for KC. Then tell him Wade has to be D.C. But I hope he doesn't go that route...

I would imagine that Haley hates Pioli.

Not sure why he'd harbor any continued animosity towards Kansas City. I guess he could still be upset with Clark but the pecking order was established when he took the job; he was always going to be the guy that got the ax before Pioli did.

He's spent on players.

I really don't know what else he could have done as an owner.
Since he's been the owner he's proven that when he needs to, he'll get the best option out there. Pioli sucked but that the time he was hired, he was the best candidate out there by most people's standards.

Rams will interview Bills interim coach Anthony Lynn on Sunday in Florida, per source. Nothing is considered imminent with Bills after Lynn interviewed with them today in Florida.

What I have noticed over the years is that behind every great quarterback is a coach ready to take the credit.

Or in the absence of a great quarterback, you build a balanced team and hope you don't run into a team with that guy at quarterback who is having a great game.

He's gotten way too comfortable with his TV gig, IMO. He wouldn't have the drive to do the job right.
I've been saying so for years. This board was ****ing clamoring over Cowher and Gruden when we hired Reid. Guys that have been out of the league very long at all just lose touch so quick. Cowher sounds like a window licker anyway. I have no idea why anyone would want him. And Gruden is a function of good TV production. He (and everyone else on TV) picks a few points, hounds them hard, and everyone (read: dumbasses) thinking he is a genius. The only guy who appears to pick stuff out of the game is Collinsworth, and he's a large market sword swallower anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I'd have been done. If they'd have hired Cowher or Gruden, I'd have had to throw in the towel and resign myself to the fact that the organization is full of bumbling idiots that if they ever fell ass backwards into a win, it would be by sheer, blind luck.

Hiring a guy years out of football is a ****ing joke. Why do you think guys take coordinator positions after getting shitcanned?

What people don't remember is he won that Super Bowl early with that crazy good DL, and then did ****all. Everyone presumed he was good because he won a Super Bowl, but there were a LOT of years of bad ball being played in Tampa that he got a pass for because he was supposed to be some kind of prodigy. He was lucky.

Didn't they get Simms (Sims? I don't know how the hell to spell it) while he was there? I don't remember.
