Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor

Announced today, it would seem. Cover story in next month's Game Informer:

Interactive Entertainment, we feel the upcoming game showcases some of the gameplay innovation potential now possible on next-generation consoles through its groundbreaking Nemesis System.

While many previous games set in Middle-earth have revolved around the major events or characters depicted in Tolkien's books, Shadow of Mordor offers a new chapter that fits comfortably between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Players control a lone ranger by the name of Talion as he journeys deep into the heart of Mordor in the days before it transforms into a blasted hellscape. Along the way, developer Monolith is exploring a fascinating next-gen approach to enemies, encounters, and storytelling, one in which every player shapes their own story through the choices they make. The Nemesis System assures that every enemy you fight is a named foe, and if they survive their battle with you, they continue to grow, improve, and act in the world, even as you attempt to do the same with Talion.

Looks like just about everybody in game media has a story about it today.

Maybe I just need to be more patient. But that's never been my strong suite when it comes to games. Typically I hate sneaking in games, and would rather jump into the action.

It's kind of funny though, there's this one little orc pussy mother****er with a big mouth. We've fought like 5 times now, and he always runs away like a little girl orc before I get a chance to finish him off. He's now all bandaged up from head to toe and looks like a mummy. **** you Sawbones!

Also.... it would be nice to run into an orc that doesn't sound like the same burly british drunk guy... that gets a little repetitive...

Someone from CP died to a captain and I got a quest to 'avenge' the death. After killing his goons off to make it a fair 1v1, I threw him next to a barrel of grog and then blew it up. Needless to say he got pissed, so after chopping his health down a bit (****er was combat master & flip-blocker) he tried to run. After the cut scene he stumbled and fell into one of those small fire pits and died!! I love this game!
