More Music (My New Band)

Previously, I've gotten some very positive responses from this message board on my musical endeavors (This thread) so I figured I'd share what I've been working on over the past year.

It's somewhat of a new direction for me. Very post-rock influenced instrumental, with a prog-experimental vocal overlay.

Currently we are writing a concept album based on stories found in an old notebook from that of an elder whom had been stuck in a living community as a window without communication from his kids. Random words of wisdom… to personal feelings… to stories of childhood, the notebook is being pieced together and transcribed into musical format by us. As stories are translated, they are labeled with the page number and an alias.

I've done the recording/production on these demos myself in home studio.
I'm getting better, but still have a lot of work to do.

To those who take the time to listen; I thank you for your ears!
If you end up not liking it, I appologize. =)
If you do like it, I ask that you send a "Like" to our facebook page and come check us out live sometime!

Thanks for listening! Grin was the first track I mixed out of the three, so it's the worst quality to me. There is a part near the end which I wanted to portray much heavier, and I'm still working on cleaning up the vocal in the chorus to not use so much distortion. Different synth will be added to the song soon as well, more along the style of Morning. These are just some demos to get out there, but hopefully as I get better at mixing I can get something sounding a little better.

Woot! Glad you will listen. I wish you were still living around here so we could hang out and jam or talk some music sometime. It's crazy you came to see my band when I was first getting started.

Awesome to hear Deftones and Floyd, 2 styles we are trying to mesh! Glad you love the vox distortion... I dig it too, but I know it turns many off.
Hopefully we have a full album to sell someday!

I've never thought Dane was a dick. He's actually one of my favorite posters. Sometimes I think he lets posters on here get to him too much, but generally I like to hear his take on things in the entertainment world. I sometimes like ribbing him because he can be a little over the top.

This. Any ribbing I do of Dane is just playing off the Dane memes that we have here on CP. I have zero problem with the guy, and he's always been cool as hell to me.

I enjoyed it.. Definitely still has the deftones atmosphere to it.... but even more so... Stabbing Westward (vocally and with the synths) --- Stabbing Westward NOT NIN.

I approve.

And I also still really wish I lived in the mid-west - we'd be jamming. I have a ibanez S series guitar that is collecting dust
I play a little more hardcore/metal though. Regardless, I like you're style (as you already knew)

It's like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon had a baby with Deftones' White Pony. Pretty good. Trippy.
