Late Night Bull. Am I crazy OR.........

Am I crazy, or should drivers get some type of reward for never, never, never, ever, ever, ever once having to call a car insurance company and ask for help?

Not even a fender bender or anything. Nothing that would cost any insurer anything.

Sure, I may have gotten some tickets over the years. And apparently that practically guarantees me of getting in a car wreck in the near future, according to their statistics.

Been driving for almost 18 years now. Never once been in the slightest tiny bit of an accident. Not one time. Ever.

But yet, a state revision last year caused my insurance to go up from $250 for 6 months to $300. I thought it was bullshit for the $50 and I called to bitch.

Then I got a traffic violation (WHICH I PAID FOR, not the insurance company) for an improper lane change. And I paid the $100. Not them. And that caused my insurance to go from $300 for 6 months to $450 for 6 months.

I called to bitch again and they sent me a letter telling me of my horrific driving record of ZERO ****ING ACCIDENTS EVER IN ALMOST 18 YEARS

but that ticket man....that ticket

It's been over a year since that ticket. Still not an accident.

How many tickets have I gotten before that?

ONE from 1999 - 2012

ONE

2 when I was 16.

2 in the past 15 years.

THIS IS BULLSHIT

I'm sorry. But this is bullshit.

I am forced to give away $830 per year for a car thats not even worth that with min coverage except medical.

I'm pissed.

I think I deserve a god damn discount without having some spy shit in my car, or progressives snapshot program.

I think all that should matter is how many times you need money from the people you have to give money to. If the answer is ZERO dollars in 18 years. YOU SHOULD GET A ****ING DISCOUNT.

I've been driving for 18 years and I've never been in an accident, (with the exception of a fender bender and no insurance info was exchanged). I've only gotten 1 ticket. It was a "you ran a red light even though it was actually yellow, but I'm a cop needing to meet my quota", bullshit ticket, but I didn't fight it.

I have no doubt that, even if my record was completely spotless, my rates still would have increased the way that they have over the years. My biggest bitch about insurance though is paying for the uninsured motorists. If an uninsured dipshit hits someone, they should be forced to sell all of their belongings to pay for the accident, (just my opinion).

You live in a Nazi state, dude.

Move to North Dakota. When I lived there I could get away with murder and only pay a small fine. Car insurance rarely ever went up.

It shouldn't be about your ****ing zip code. It obviously doesn't affect me, I'm obviously in the 1% for driving.

Getting a ****ing ticket obviously doesn't increase my chances of getting in an accident.
Some company advertises that you get a rebate every year if no accidents. They probably start with higher premiums, so who knows if it is worth it.

Your zip code (where you drive) obviously impacts the potential risk of insuring you. You live in the Boston area? I'm a pretty aggressive driver, but that town is ****ing nuts

To them, your ticket DOES increase your chances of causing an accident--you're now seen as a bigger risk.

Also, in most places minor traffic infractions can be amended to a non-moving violation if you pay a higher fine. So, no points and your insurance won't know.

Yeah, don't get it dude. I've been with Geico for the better part of 10 years and never filed a claim where I was at fault. My rates have gone down consistently and they just gave me accident forgiveness. A get out of jail free card if you will because my record has been so good.

I had someone with Geico wipe his bike out underneath my front bumper pulling out of a parking lot where he was obstructed from street view and he couldn't see me coming. Geico came out and paid me, and my rates didn't go up.

Got a couple of tickets. Rates didn't go up. Added my shitty driving brother in law to my policy, wait for it...rates didn't go up. I guess this just turned into a Geico commercial, but **** it. They've been that good to me.

FORCED to give $20K with nothing in return.

and that goes for everyone. Keeping the people down so a few can get rich.
.. and you could hit somebody tomorrow injure them and your insurance could be out $500,000 or whatever your maximum liability is because that's how insurance works.

I'd be pissed about the increase of rates on a ticket as well if you've been with them for all of those years. I mean a lot of insurers will forgive an accident after X number of years so to increase you based on a ticket is shit. I'm saying that assuming you've been with an insurer for a long period. If you just switched a year or two ago then that's probably out the window.
