Direckshun's offensive line thread

Direckshun's specialists thread

I'd say quarterback only because I hate Matt Cas er I mean Alex Smith.

I think cornerback and secondary are going be major problem with only Brandon Flowers and Eric Berry being the only two worth a damn for that unit.

Think the RB group is as solid a unit as any on this team.

I am a big Cyrus Gray guy.
Think he's going to bust out this year and be the relief back this team has been looking for since Charles took over the feature role.

Draughn is a solid 3rd or 4th guy, depending on how that 3rd round pick shows up.

I would probably rank them as follows, strongest to weakest:

Offensive line - thin at center, but otherwise pretty stocked if Schwartz plays well.
Linebacker - we have pro bowlers at three spots, so we're only down one and some depth.
Receivers - I'm going to be an optimist and assume that Baldwin and Avery play well.
Specialists - Good K, good P, someone can return kicks and cover, right?
Defensive backfield - Lots of CBs, a Berry who is hopefully recovered, and a weakness at FS
Offensive backfield - Charles alone should move this to the top, but he's the only strength we've got.
Defensive line - scares me to death.

Wait, so even though I think qb is our weakest unit, you managed to categorize it with RB, which I think is our strongest unit....

LBs - far and away the best unit, proven production plus a perfect rookie plugger
RB - Charles...and a couple interesting backups

CB/S - lots of pieces, but no guarantees...flowers and berry are excellent
WR - Bowe (stud) and Avery (solid in spite of spotty hands)...rest are questions

OL - Albert is the only proven piece, but we drafted a RT at #1 so he must be awesome

TE - Fasano is decent, Moeaki is a pussy, rookie is a rookie

DL - piles of shit
QB - pieces of shit (we paid a premium for two backups)

specialists - i guess i should care but i don't

Love the LB's. Best positional group on the team IMO.

If Alex Myth can build on his 2012 season and hold that production with extra pass attempts, we have some fun years coming up.

He threw 13 touchdowns in only 218 pass attempts. That's 1 every 19 passes.

Andys Eagles threw the ball 616 times last year.

That puts Alex at 32 touchdowns...

Shit, I'm just excited that we have an offensive minded coach.

With what we gave up for Smith, they won't spend another pick, but I'd love to see us spend a pick on Maclin, if he isn't going to re up with the Eagles next year.

As far as strongest, I'm going linebackers all the way.

3 probowlers

Weakest?

Probably the DL and that could easily chance by years end as I think it's possible we see the secondary as a weakness after 2013.

I really dont like half our starters there...Robinson/Smith and Lewis aren't very good...at all.
