I've pretty much accepted the fact that one way or another, Kroenke will own a team in LA. I think, more than likely, that the Rams won't be in STL in a few years. But I won't be shocked if another team comes to St. Louis, based on the contingent that a new stadium will be built(which I think is more likely than not going to occur).

The way Kroenke has treated the St. Louis fan base has been awful. He has only spoken once in public, from what I can recall, while being the majority owner of the Rams. And that was when Fisher was hired. Demoff acting as his mouthpiece is cool and all, but it would be even better if he at least tried to say something to the media on occasion(which he hasn't done since the days after Spags was fired when he had a conversation with Miklasz and addressed questions at Fisher's hiring).
He's going to win, one way or another, by being a complete tool to the fanbase that purchases his tickets. He will get a new stadium, either here or in LA. |

He doesn't want a stadium in St. Louis, he's out IMO at least...

The Rose Bowl and Coliseum are not going to provide that. Qualcom is a dump now as well. |

NFL is just in a major pickle with the Rams deal. Kroenke moving the team, building the stadium, and his background is what they want in Los Angeles - on the other hand St. Louis has viable stadium plan and according to the NFL by laws regards moving a team would be against. Tough call especially when San Diego and Oakland have done exactly nothing for a new stadium.

The key to this might be the relocation fee that the league charges the team to move. I have heard rumors of $500m - 1B.
The Rams could afford to pay it. The Chargers and Raiders are both highly leveraged and would have to devalue their ownership to less than controlling. The NBA is slightly different than the NFL as they do not have revenue sharing for TV, however, the Clippers sold for $2b and the Hawks just sold for less than $1b. Being in LA does increase the value quite a bit. The Chargers and Raiders value would go from $800-900, to $1.5 - 2b. The other owners are going to want a piece of that. |

They didn't stop Irsay when he Mayflowered out of Baltimore. I think if San Diego got a new stadium this would all be moot. The NFL wants another modern warm weather stadium to host SBs in.
