Underappreciated monster drummers!
Who is the best (in your opinion) drummer out there that never gets the credit they deserve.

*Warning: death to anyone who says Neil Peart or Mike Portnoy. They're monsters, but they're anything but underappreciated!

The one that came to mind tonight is Thomas "Thomen" Stauch. I've long been a Blind Guardian fan, but until tonight I've really never paid that close attention to his drumming. That man is a machine, a veritable computer! He's inhuman! You gotta have something extra upstairs to be able to keep up with the strange rhythms that guy comes up with.

I saw Motly Crue last night at the BOK Center in Tulsa. Tommy Lee is amazing and to do what he does while spinning upside down of the crowd is amazing.

I enjoyed that!

Used to be a Buddy Rich vs Ed Shuanessy drum battle that was just unbelievable.

The Carson Entertainment Group took it down from youtube due to copy right issues.

Here's two Snarky Puppy tunes with a drummer named Larnell Lewis. He was a last minute sub and learned all of these tunes in three days (with one rehearsal). His drumming shows some world class chops and SERIOUS groove.

Yes, I believe so. It took him and his drums to the top of the BOK and out past all of the floor section seating. It was amazing. He beat the drums to a bunch of newer stuff by different artiest. It was cool.
