Being a comedian is a funny game. You can be the best in the world at it. Like Elite, still most people always are haters. It is a total mind game to focus on the positives and focus on your inner game and what you think, and you have to take the critics words to heart sometimes because that's how you get better, but you also have to dump the pure haters words out. Caliendo has found a way to just enjoy doing impressions so much he has dumped zillions of hours into these impressions.

It's like he had enough time to be funny or have the elite impression skills, and he enjoys being the absolute best in the world at impressions, and he found joy and maybe gets off on the fact that "Hey I can't be the funniest guy in the world" but he is the best at his craft at impressions.

Remember when the entertainment industry told us Richard Pryor was funny and forced him down our throats? Truth was he was only marginally funny when he was free basing and pitiful after.

I always thought they axed a pretty funny Jimmy Kimmel because he made fun of the hosts. Especially tender Terry.

I think the impressions are the comedy. I don't think he is trying to do some ground breaking jokes. Its parody not standup.

Agreed. But with that, the comedy kind of wears off quickly when he doesn't have anything funny to go along with the impression. Basically, some of the impression skits just go on too long. That's just me though. For example, his Morgan Freeman reading Lebron's letter was funny for the first 20 seconds or so.
