He’s old, but he’d still be the best TE2 we’ve had in maybe ever. Does all the little things right, can catch, block, and his veteran leadership would be good to have on such a young team. He knows how to win.

I know! - It's weird too - Ass Eater and I were having a nice conversation in the Horror Film thread, just the other day!

I hope he gets in a better mood and this isn't the new 'normal.'

If not a genius, he's nearly one. Really bumps the average IQ at the TE position.

Remember what happened in the Titans game in the playoffs after Kelce went down? That's what I think this signing is about. Plus, he can be today's Jason Dunn to Kelce's Tony G.

Veech is also making sure Mahomes is not one injury away from his offense stalling. We have 2 deep threats in Hill and Watkins, two TE's in Kelce and Watson, and 2 RB's in Hunt and Spencer Ware.

Alex Smith is in Washington. Problem was solved already.

This would be an EXCELLENT signing. Also I usually hate when people say this but he would provide great leadership for the locker room. Also allows Kelce to flex to the slot.

Watson is by no means a game breaker, but he's a competent receiver at TE. This signing will make it hellishly difficult to match up with the Chiefs in base personnel.

Imagine the Chiefs coming out in a 2 TE set with Hunt as the single back and Watkins and Hill at WR. Now you flex out Kelce.

If the D is in base personnel, Kelce is in a mismatch. If the D is in the nickel, you check to a run with Hunt.

That is astounding production for a 37! year old man on a mediocre football team, unreal... this guy is the salty old veteran this young offense needs

Great move IMO, gives us a reliable #2 who can block... and allows Veach to spend a low pick on some youngster who needs a year or two of polishing

0% chance Mecca is right that we keep Harris now, that dumbass is packing his bags as I type this out

I think the Watkins deal has more to deal with that than anything

Hope we never pin our playoff hopes to Ben Watson

This, we don't even realize yet we have a whole different dynamic now. We're going from a check down QB to one that looks downfield for the play. Dat, Robinson , chesson will be getting balls.

Damn I like this guy already. Should teach Kelce a little maturity hopefully.
