I came pretty close to moving to St. Louis this year. Was runner up on a job offer, kind of glad I didn't get it now but that is a different story. I probably would have lived in St. Charles/Chesterfield area. Really like it that part of the world.

God. Awful. So is that ****ing ewie gooey butter cake they love out there. T-Ravs are outstanding though.

Toasted ravs make up for provel to an extent.

Another thing STL could tone it down on: being obsessed about what high school you attended if you are also from STL.

I'd move to St. Charles in a heartbeat; really neat little river town. It's like a slightly more upscale Parkville (which is where I grew up).

I like the suburbs of St. Louis more than the suburbs of KC but I think the city itself has blown past STL.

I guess it's just easier than asking what county you're from.

I mean ultimately "where'd you go to High School" is code for the "You're not from Wyandotte County, are you?" you get in the KC area. Nobody actually gives a shit where you went but they all seem to have some idea what the answer means.

I can't figure it out, but I guess the wrong answer is like living in Gladstone or something.

Private schools are huge in St. Louis. Kansas City essentially just has Rockhurst, while St. Louis has several. I think that is part of it.

St. Charles is probably where I would have landed. I agree neat little suburb.

This pretty much sums it up.

High School tells a person if you grew up in the city, or what part of the County you grew up in. Or if you're a private school trust fund kid. It's judgmental as ****, but it's an instant barometer as to your socioeconomic status - at least in your formative (well, to me at least) years.

I think it's ridiculous, but it's been going on for decades.

I'm sure people from Chicago feel differently about being "rivals".

And please elaborate why St. Louis can eat a fat dick, Billay. Do you realize how big of a blow the Rams delivered to the area with regards to civic pride? I like downtown St. Louis and parts of the metro area, but it's fairly limited with regards to what it can offer socially. I like the Landing, Washington Ave. the Central West End in downtown, but after that, there's really not much else to do socially aside from BPV.

Also seeing someone mention Lamar Hunt Jr. buying a stake in the Blues, I don't see that. Ownership is 100% local.
RF I already elaborated on why I don't like St.Louis it has more so to do with sports than anything else. I actually thought about you when it was announced they were moving. I wasn't happy about it as it gave me a chance to see the Chiefs play on the road only a few hours away. Your community has been through alot with the whole Ferguson thing and I'm sure losing a football team has only hurt the community. Maybe I'll get over it someday but KC has been the neglected children compared to St.Louis when it comes to sports for most of my life.

Bout as flat a game from Chicago as I've seen all season last night. Fortunately, we got good Crawford and Dick Panik.

Granted, I'm a Blues fan...but I just don't understand how a slapdick like Crawford has backstopped two teams to Cup wins.
