Will the Royals make the playoffs this season?

Royals currently 36-32, (as of 6/15). Go on the record and we can check back in on who was right and wrong at the end of the season.

Since I bet $250 that the Royals would win at least 83 games, I sure hope so.

Ok, changed my opinion.

Royals make playoffs as last WC. Then quickly get bounced in the one game play in game.

/cause Royals.....

Sveum does seem to have these hitters batting with more confidence. I'm not sure if that is fool's gold, yet, or not.

I'd give them no worse than a 1 in 15 chance.

Baseball is such a game of streaks, and with 162, a grind, not to mention unfortunate injuries, but I think this year looks promising- the cluster of AL teams around the WC is a bit unsettling, but hopefully it works out and the rest aren't all hovering around a WC spot come the start of August.

I'm not saying "Not a chance".

Clearly there's a chance. Last year they had a chance.

As long as they don't have a fallout prior to the ASG like last season, they'll be in an even better position. It also helps that DET isn't playing so well, but you also can't expect them to keep on playing at such level either. They have the talent to win the WS.

And whlie the Royals are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, you can't expect their level of play last this long, unless by some miracle these guys just now finally "get it" and things are starting to click (finally) to where they can consistently perform like legit every day big leaguers that can compete against live big league pitching.

The question is too broad....way too much baseball left to be played IMO. I'll answer once we hit the end of July, after coming out of the ASG break.

You should wait until October to weigh in. Otherwise you might not be right.

That's what makes it a fun question to think about.

I'm all in with this team. Apart from last year, my best memories from the Royals were the 03 season. It's hard to fathom that a whole generation of fans, (including myself), have never seen playoff baseball in KC.

It's time for that to end.

I believe the Tigers will continue to have struggles with their pen, and I wonder if Verlander is dealing with some sort of injury?

This is a big series coming up.

I think Verlander's problem is his velocity. He used to be able to touch 100 mph and have near perfect control over all his pitches. Now it's in the mid-90s, and his secondary pitches have suffered because of it.
