Take away that ****ing London game. If you want international presence, handle that shit in the preseason. Given how critical homefield advantage is for teams and a short 16-game schedule, every game matters

Scrap Goodell's stupid ass personal conduct policy and start fresh. Lay down hard & fast rules about clear-cut violations, cut out the ability to negotiate down your punishment, and leave some flexibility to deal with behavior that has more gray area

Stop bowing down to fantasy football and bring football back to purity. Loosen up rules on defensive holding. Make clear rules to limit pick plays. Find some way to stop the ridiculous third and long situations turning into first downs because of a 5-yard illegal contact penalty.

Change overtime rules to what they did in the playoffs last year. Sudden death is such a ****ing stupid idea

Make the extra point harder by moving it back. This was a great idea
Yeah, this.

There was definitely not the consistent theme of stupidity that follows most rule changes under Goodell's watch.

And botched implementation has nothing to do with the owners. That's all Goodell.
I'm not defending Goodell. Basically, I'm pretty ambivalent about him--because I realize that he is not "in charge."

I would say though that one unprecedented challenge he/the league has had--and that a lot of the criticism of him comes from--is this concussion thing and the rules associated with it.

I think it is a real problem for the league and they can't just ignore it. I like the big hits too and it's real easy for us fans to say, "meh, they know it is a rough sport. Man up, pussies." If you're an owner or the commissioner, what do you do--just ignore it? Ignore the lawsuits that could cost billions? Ignore that people are getting brain damage from participating in the business you run? You don't think they need to address it? Surely you can at least understand why they think they need to address it.

Why? If you tackle a receiver so he can't catch a 30-yard pass, why shouldn't he at least get the benefit of what would have happened had be been allowed to catch the ball?

The Thursday night games do seem unfair to the teams having to play Sunday and then 4 days later, but I can't say that I hate having a game to watch on Thursday nights.

People always say the games are shitty, but has anyone ever really done a "study" of the shittiness? Is there something to measure to show that the games are worse? Is scoring or yardage or something way up or down compared to normal? I don't know...just asking.

Instead of overtime, do a soccer style shootout with field goals instead of penalty kicks to decide games which are tied at the end of regulation.

Can't the players sign like a waiver of something that everyone else in the world has to sign before they do something dangerous? Lol
Lawsuits are ****ing lame, getting hurt in football is common sense, that is why they get paid millions.

This is basically the college rule with five yards shaved off. It is a judgement call. Why should the offense be bailed out on what amounts to a judgement call by the ref? Remember, the offense also gets to replay the down.

The first thing I would do is allow coaches to challenge anything. just like belechik and other coaches suggested the last offseason. Especially bullshit pass interference flags.

Won't change the amount of challenges if they are only allowed to use the challenges they are already given.

The problem is when you have a man with questionable ethics running this whole operation. Not to mention an owner without a spine or a clue how to deal with the nflpa. His handling of the lockout told you everything you need to know about his negotiation prowess. His botched pr effort after the ray rice incident tells you how clueless the guy is at crisis management. His cronyism doling out punishments and the cover up in the ray rice incident tells you everything you need to know about his values.

Goodell is a shiny object chaser and a spinner. Concussions are up? Let's just flag players for hitting too hard. Goodell reacted to the concussion issue instead of proactively trying to fix it. He is afraid to mandate mouth guard usage and basic safety equipment because he's afraid that it's an admission to the players Union that they ignored it in the past.

Goodell has been credited with the success of a cash cow that was going to grow no matter who was commissioner. The guy has botched almost everything he has put his hands on. The only thing he's done is make money but at the expense of the integrity of the game.
