Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I mentioned a few posts back that it was fantastic. The lady and I both thoroughly enjoyed it.
I definitely recommend it if you enjoy Sam Raimi type horror.

The remake of Logan's Run is in the works, starring Ryan Gosling.

The director of Drive, Nicolas Winding Refn directs.

The old trailer for it is included in the link, good for some laughs.

That could be pretty cool.

That movie **cked me up. One of the best dystopic future movies I have ever seen. To hell with the fact it started as juvenile science fiction. So did Harry Potter.

Got bored last night, watched X:Men First Class again, didn't realize the same actress that played a young Mystique also played Katniss in HG.

Almost through the second book (audiobook). 2 hours left.

Oldest daughter wants me to take her back to see Hunger Games for the third time this weekend. Hard to tell her no. Damn fine movie, and I recommend it to any of you that like sci-fi.

What model player do you have? I still have my Pioneer CLD-505. Wish I could have afforded one of the Elites.

My grandmother had the predecessor to LaserDisc she had a VideoDisc player.

Man that thing was awesome. If you paused the movie too long it would cause it to skip in the same spot. What I mean by this is if you remember the boob jiggling scene in Airplane, well we paused it there and after a while that part of the movie would jiggle back and forth for like 10 seconds. Now that's a lot of boob jiggling.

Watched 'Moneyball' last night & loved it, you dont have to be a huge baseball fan to really appreciate it.

Beane changed the game, plain & simple, but its hard to understand turning down the Red Sox contract, holy cow. I also cant help but wonder why it doesnt seem to be working so good these days, though i read that its partly because pretty much every team is now using the sabermetrics system.

Pitt is as good as ever, Hoffman was absolutely nails & Hill was just fine, though i dont see him deserving an academy nod over Hoffman.

A friend of mine had never seen Red Dawn, so we watched that last night. It was a really underrated movie, especially considering what most high-school-set movies - and the world in general - were like at the time.

Not bad. I'm wondering why there was no mention of the pitching.
