You know better than this. I would take the early 2000's Panthers defense over the early 2000's Chiefs defense 1000 out of 1000 times. It's not even a discussion.

Green played with some of the NFL's worst ever defenses....literally.

Do you think Jake would have been able to get the Chiefs over that hump?

Julius Peppers, Kris Jenkins and Mike Rucker up front to lead your defense...

Or Eric Hicks, Ryan Sims and Vonnie Holliday?

I don't know which one to pick. It's an incredibly difficult decision.

Jake Delhomme five playoff wins. Those defenses must have won them all those games?

Well, I'd bet they actually forced a punt. That's a start.

And just for reference, since they both happened in 2003... the Panthers' defense did allow less points in their 3 playoff wins to get to the Super Bowl than the Chiefs did in their one game against the Colts.

Okay, but the board around here would still be moaning and groaning if this team went 5-3 in the playoffs and lost their only super bowl appearance in the last 20 years. They would still say that management sucks and can't get that one move just right to get this team over the hump. As it is, Cam Newton is not a good choice to give this contract to. Mediocrity at its finest. Just because you think one contract for a mediocre QB is a terrible decision doesn't make another one, with the exact same circumstances, a better decision. What, just because the guy can run makes it a better decision? No way no how. Unless he miraculously learns to throw a football in the next 5 years then this deal will be a bust. That's what my money is on.

Cam Newton had a lower % of catchable passes than Geno Smith.

No, I disagree. This board would be circle jerking over a picture of John Dorsey if we won a measly playoff game.

Oh, and I disagree with that. The majority on here would continue to whine that Alex Smith isn't the answer to get this team to a Super Bowl as long as we kept falling short. Doesn't even matter if we make an AFC Championship game. The masses would still continue to argue that they were right and Dorsey is an idiot.
