Ian Rapoport has some kind of Chiefs news

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet

Speaking of the #Chiefs… if you're interested in some news, I'd watch Total Access on @nflnetwork in 8 minutes. I'll have some.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet

As I said on Total Access: #Chiefs are actively pursuing a long-term deal with WR Dwayne Bowe. They've met with his reps, want to keep him.

Of course Miller is disputing it, he's being paid by Joeckel to pimp him as the first pick.

Not disagreeing with the NFLN report about Bowe and Albert, but a team saying they "want" to re-sign a player doesn't mean they will.
No, I love this tweet. I want him to hold out hope that his points about Albert were right. Then he can figure out how them signing Albert doesn't make him an idiot.

This ****ing dumbshit.

@nfldraftscout

If the #Chiefs address WR and LT in free agency, opens things up for Star Lotulelei or reaching (really reaching) for a QB.

@bfett81 @jhelms82 Where would you select JJ Watt? You guys are so dismissive of anything but a QB. Can't wait to see draft day.

This rumor, along with rumor about wanting to re-sign Albert, if true, could have me warming up to these guys.

Chiefs wants to keep Dwayne Bowe
Posted by Mike Florio on February 14, 2013, 8:56 PM EST
Bowe AP

Last year, Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe was a free agent. His freedom was restricted by the franchise tag. In August, he opted to accept the one-year, $9.5 million offer.

This year, he’s due to become a free agent again. We’ve confirmed that the Chiefs and Bowe’s representatives currently are discussing a new deal. The Chiefs have made it clear that they want to retain Bowe, per a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Chiefs’ interest in and negotiations with Bowe were first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Use of the franchise tag for a second year would result in a one-year guaranteed contract of $11.4 million. It’s unclear at this point whether the Chiefs would use the tag for a second straight season.

Bowe, 28, was a first-round pick in 2007. He qualified for the Pro Bowl in 2010 with a career-high 15 touchdown receptions.
