**Updated**After PS, what's your 53 man roster?

In the end, this ended up looking more like wishful thinking. I am probably stashing away more rookies away for waiver protection than will happen.

IR-Marsh
Players on roster stashed for purposes of Practise Squad: Pugsley,Alexander, Reaves, Brown

QB(3)-Smith,Daniel,Murray
RB(4)-Charles,Davis,West,Reaves
FB(1)-Sherman
WR(6)-Maclin,Wilson,Williams,Thomas,Conley,Brown
TE(3)-Kelsey,O'Shaunessey, Harris
OL(8)-Fisher,Grubbs,Morse,Pugsley,LDT,Allen,Stephenson,Fulton
25

DL (7)-Poe, Howard,Bailey,DeVito,Williams,Fangupo,Catapano
LB (9)-Houston,Hali,DJ,Mauga,Ford,Wilson,Zombo,Moses,Alexander
CB (5)-Smith, Peters, Gaines, Nelson, Flemming
S (5)-Parker,Abdullah,Branch,Berry,Sorensen
26

ST (3) Winchester, Colquitt, Santos

Week 3 below

Still picking 54 with Smith suspension for week 1.

After Week 3 and ever increaseing time for starters, my 53 is as follows.

PUP-Poe
IR-Marsh
Players on roster stashed for purposes of Practise Squad: Pugsley,Alexander

QB(3)-Smith,Daniel,Murray
RB(3)-Charles,Davis,West
FB(1)-Sherman
WR(7)-Maclin,Wilson,Williams,Thomas,Avant,Conley,Hammond
TE(3)-Kelsey,O'Shaunessey, Taylor
OL(9)-Fisher,Grubbs,Morse,Pugsley,LDT,Allen,Kush,Stephenson,Fulton
26

DL (6)-Howard,Bailey,DeVito,Williams,Fangupo,Catapano
LB (9)-Houston,Hali,DJ,Mauga,Ford,Wilson,Zombo,Moses,Alexander
CB (5)-Smith, Peters, Gaines, Nelson, Flemming
S (5)-Parker,Abdullah,Branch,Berry,Sorensen
25

ST (3) LS, Colquitt, Santos

BELOW IS PS WEEK 2
After Week 2 and increased time for starters, my 53 looks more realistic. The roster is still heavy on wideouts, for the purpose of protecting Brown from waivers. Hammond is certainly on the bubble and if Conley has shown little (but he is a 3rd round pick). This is also short on TE still.

PUP-Poe
IR-Marsh, Allen(or PUP?)
Players stashed for Practise Squad: Pugsley,Irving,Brown,Alexander

QB(3)-Smith,Daniel,Murray
RB(4)-Charles,Davis,West,Ware
FB(1)-Sherman
WR(7)-Maclin,Wilson,Williams,Thomas,Avant,Conley,Brown,
TE(2)-Kelsey,O'Shaunessey
OL(8)-Fisher,Grubbs,Morse,Pugsley,LDT,Kush,Stephenson,Fulton
26

DL (7)-Howard,Bailey,DeVito,Irving,Williams,Fangupo,Catapano
LB (9)-Houston,Hali,DJ,Mauga,Ford,Wilson,Zombo,Moses,Alexander
CB (5)-Smith,Peters,Gaines,Nelson,Cooper
S (5)-Parker,Abdullah,Branch,Berry,Sorensen
25

ST (3) LS, Colquitt, Santos

BELOW IS PS WEEK 1

I believe we get a roster exemption for S.Smith's suspension, so I picked 54 players for the Week 1 roster based only off what I saw from week 1.

PUP-Poe
Players stashed for Practise Squad: Brown, Pugsley,Nunez-Roches,Olatoye,Alexander,Fangupo,Irving
Cuts:Allen, Devito

QB(3)-Smith,Daniel,Murray
RB(3)-Charles,Davis,West
FB(1)-Sherman
WR(8)-Maclin,Wilson,Williams,Thomas,Avant,Conley,Brown,Hammond
TE(3)-Kelsey,Taylor,O'Shaunessey
OL(8)-Fisher,Grubbs,Morse,Fulton,Pugsley,LDT,Stephenson,Fanaika
26

DL (5)-Howard,Bailey,Irving,Williams,Fangupo
LB (10)-Houston,Hali,DJ,Mauga,Ford,Marsh,Wilson,Alexander,Zombo,Moses
CB (5)-Smith,Peters,Gaines,Nelson,Cooper
S (5)-Berry,Parker,Abdullah,Branch,Olatoye
25

ST (3)

If Harris stays on the PUP then Ryan Taylor gets the #3 TE spot. Somebody will get a 'special teams captain' kind of spot; probably McCray though it could be Sorenson or even Hemmingway (as a 7th WR but largely in name only). If not, maybe they'll use March in that capacity and not risk having to sneak Alexander onto the PS.

As for Williams - lets not forget that the's a 27 yr old rookie; this guy almost certainly is who he is. The Chiefs just used a pick on Brown and it's not as if Brown has looked bad. Williams wouldn't just have to beat Brown to get that spot, he'd have to kill him.

They'll probably be able go get Pughsley, Williams and Reaves on the practice squad to squirrel them away.

At 30 yrs old, he's probably beyond further development but he may stick for a bit if Poe can't get off the PUP. He's pretty much just a poor man's Poe so really, he's always been something of a natural fit as Poe's backup.

I'd rather have Pughsley than Allen on the roster. Allen has maxed out, Pughsley has not.

IF Fred Williams continues to perform, I'd rather have him than Avant, for the same reason stated above.

I can't argue with any other of your roster decisions.

The other thing that really stood out to me was that there was no discernible dropoff between Morse and Kush. With that being the case, should Reid put Morse at right tackle?

Fisher/Grubbs/Kush/Fulton/Morse

Isn't that the best use of resources?

Yeah, but Allen can play a credible starting RT right now and I'm not confident saying that Pughsley can.

If we had a steady situation at RT or even if we had a little confidence in our swing T I'd be more inclined to move on from Allen. But with so much uncertainty already at the tackles, I just can't talk myself into moving on from Allen.

The safety yesterday is the best example of why - Rooks and Reed looked like monkeys ****ing a football on that play. I'm not sure who vapor locked but I know one of them did. That happened over and over and over again last year where guy simply didn't do the right thing out there. I worry if you go with someone as green as Pughsley over a veteran in Allen, you greatly increase the number of times that happens.

As for Williams vs. Avant - eh, Avant's done it. He's steady as the sunrise and he's a guy that can set a good example for the young WRs. Williams is a JAG who had a good day. He's an overage rookie that was decimating grocery baggers out there. If Reid went your way, that would probably say good things about Williams but ultimately I don't expect it and certainly don't care either way.

Nah, I don't think Morse can actually do the job at RT, not as a full time starter anyway.

Morse seems like a wasted draft choice to me. Kush is capable, Fulton is capable.

I dont' think they can stash Irving.

I've always wondered where the love for Fleming came from.

Wasn't he an effective tackle at MU? I'm asking because I've read that he was but have no first hand knowledge.
