I am not a Nebraska fan, but those teams were awesome and we would all cream over a run like they had.

I'm getting older but I remember the Turner Gill days. (Before he became a horrible coach, he was actually a good player). People were always interested to watch Nebraska play because they or OU would always go to the Orange Bowl. I remember them coming in and winning 63-7, scores like that. One year OU came in and our cheerleaders were over on the sidelines asking Boz for his autograph.

Back in those days Nebraska was a nationally-respected powerhouse. Now? Irrelevant. Maybe it's best Bos Pelini never experience the glory years because it woudl be too depressing for him now.

My Wildcats are about to go through the same thing.

Snyder is KSU. It would take a miracle hire to keep them going the same direction and a bigger miracle to keep the coach if it happens.

Last 3 combined. But your point does still have validity: Nebraska is now comparing themselves not to Alabama, OU, USC or Florida. But to Kansas. (That would've been unthinkable back in the 1980s before you were born)

As a KU fan, I wanted last year to be your year.

I was at the KU-Iowa State Football game, and my entire row was in shock not over KU's performance, but the fact that KSU was down by 18 against Baylor.

They're comparing their team in an off year to almost a half decade of your team combined.

Thanks for changing my mind. You know Ive been saying for the past few years Pelini is average coach. When I looked it up he's never won less than 9 games in a season and is one of only a few coaches to start and end a season ranked the last 3 years.

Then I remembered at irrelevant places like Kansas that would be good enough to have a statue built.

For most of my life Nebraska measured itself nationally. Seems they counted Major bowl wins as a standard. College football is very competitive so maybe they have changed expectations. I know if KU basketball went 15 years without a final four and was insignificant nationally I would still support them but I would feel a bit disappointed.

It's really hard not to be amazed by Snyder. Klein is hard not to respect. Plus they are fun to watch since they score so much and in a variety of ways. I wanted to see them play Alabama but ill admit nobody had a chance to beat them. Too good.
