I worked for 2.5 years with one of the soldiers in this movie due to his injuries suffered in war.

He was in the first small group American soldiers sent from the states after 9/11 to be injured in Afghanistan. The first to kill an Al-Queada member in hand to hand combat. He is a total bad ass but acts like he did nothing, just a small piece of the effort he would say. He was obviously in shape but stood 5'10" at best. After i heard about this movie being made I emailed him to catch up and jokingly asked for a loan of some of that movie money. He didn't take a penny. He told them to give it to veterans charity that helps prevent suicides of soldiers.

awesome story man ! I'll definitely be supporting this film / looks quite good . Our military is full of badasses thats for sure.

I worked with many of these guys. Almost all were in the same situation.

This was the best assignment/command in the military. We had the latest tech and some experimental stuff. Its the nucleus for the war on terror. And its where some of the best beaches in the world are located.

The soldiers who got picked were mostly wounded special forces soldiers who cant return to the battlefield as a reward for their service. Most while recovering from the wounds of war had decided to move on to their next life. They were all very interested in tech. Since I had skills/experience the military didn't have, they liked to hang out with me to learn and also be friends with a non-military person. 2nd best job I ever had.

I finally got around to seeing this movie liked it a lot. I didn’t like Thor in this though.

I saw it last night late (I'm stupid).

Hemsworth did OK.

Some of the emotional moments fell a little flat, but overall it was an excellent movie.

There was a lot of humor in it that really helped the tone of the movie. Some of those quips were wildly hilarious.

Cinematography and choreography were excellent.

Hemsworth did an excellent job on the horse. They had a lot of face shots on him on the horse and he did a great job riding it. Most of the time when they stick an actor on a horse for a faceshot they're bouncing around like morons.

Deserves a watch, no matter what you think of the war.

Rob Riggle, the comedian served 23 years as a Marine Lt.Col. He spent a week in the Twin Towers rubble trying to find people and or later body rescue. Then he was one of the first field officers to go into Afghanistan after 9/11. He actually plays his real life boss in the movie that he served under in Afghanistan.
