This is a franchise that has made the postseason 10 times in the last 14 seasons.
Reached three World Series in the last decade, and won as many championships (two) the past eight seasons as it did from 1965 to 2005.
Our new Manager has more post season experience than any other manager in baseball, except the Giants manager.
Three million attendance? Take it to the bank.
60 post season wins since 2004. 20+ wins more than any other team.
Only one of the last 14 seasons has been a losing one.

So, anyone else see yesterdays ST opener? Not a lot of excitement outside of the Wisdom HR. But nothing to really worry about, either.

I watched the game.

Gonzalez the soft tossing lefty left several pitches up. Not just one or two but almost every batter.

Martinez pitched great. He left a curve hang and you can't do that. One mistake. At least he kept it together and moved on. I love that fastball that dives inside on the right handers. Impressive. Way too much upside. If he is ready, we can't keep him out of the starting rotation. He can dominate a game.

I sure hope Wong gets it together and doesn't let the slump get into his head. He's hit at every level, he should hit at the big show.

Bourgas is one fast outfielder.

A couple of notes from today's win. Grichuk as advertised as considerable pop, and looks like he has made considerable adjustments to be able to cover the entire zone. He hit one off the end of the bat to the wall in center.

Piscotty has a cannon. Threw out a runner tagging from third from normal depth in right. The ball came in like a missile on the fly.

We ain't the Yankees, Angel, Dodgers etc. We can't cover up mistakes with out $2 Billion TV contracts.

We have at least 4 years. Yadi will be done as a catcher. Then we have Rosenthal and Miller hitting FA. Waino will be coming off the books so we can pay one. But next year we got Martinez and Wacha hitting FA.

Starting with the WS Championship, we have a 7 year window. Thats a pretty damn big window for a team with our payroll.

We got 4 years of planning to replace them.

Have you guys saw Tim Cooney pitch? I know its spring training and it was the Mets....... but, the dudes curve ball is that big left curve that gives MLB batters fits. He hits his spot. Many times Cruz barely moves his glove.

Was also nice to see Wacha throwing his curve ball with two strikes and men in scoring position. If he can throw that curve ball for a strike, he will take it to the Cy Young level.

He has uncanny control too. He is one under the radar that I will be watching closely. Should probably start out at Memphis this year. Doesn't project as a top end starter, but could be a nice compliment to the power arms. Goes deep in games which saves your bullpen.
