Complete garbage. I drink 15 cans of the stuff every week, have for years, and I'm as lean as they come.

I gotta have it with my popcorn. I get the 36-can packs at Sam's Club for $9. Cheaper than coffee.

All I drink is water and Arizona Diet Green Tea when I need some flavor. On weekends I drink beer. In the morning i have a zero calorie monster energy drink. I doubt I could give up my beer or Monster.

I love root beer. Fantastic when ice cold.
I used to drink a Diet Mtn Dew everyday after lunch. I'd buy a 6-pk at price chopper and put them in the break room fridge and when I come back from my lunch hr I used to swing by there and grab one. For some reason I like Diet Mtn Dew better than the reg stuff. Anyways...the shit is terrible for you. I just read the other day that they're bringing back "Surge". are you ****ing kidding me??? Why don't you just consider poisoning yourself? Soda is absolutely horrible for you and it's the most consumed drink in the US besides water. People wanna know why the number of diabetic patients is skyrocketing..well it's because of junk food/fast food/soda and it's rise in the 20th century. I mean before Coke, McDonalds, etc., there wasn't this horrible surge of diabetic patients like we're seeing today. If you want to really lose some weight and improve your overall health without having to really do a whole lot just do a few things and it will really change your life. 1. Walk a mile a day M-F. This is usually just a few laps around your neighborhood...depending on the size of course. Do it in the morning before you get ready for work..it clears your mind and it will wake you up. When you wake up go piss to get rid of as much toxins/waste as possible. Plus it sucks walking or running and then stopping because you have to piss, esp if you're w/ a dog. Then chug a couple glasses of ice water. This gives your body kind of an instant jolt. Make sure it's ice cold. Don't eat breakfast yet. Go for your mile walk - few laps around the neighborhood. If you don't think you have time then set your alarm earlier and go to bed that much earlier (sleep is important). Take your dog with you they'll love ya for it. When you're done make breakfast. I'll get to food next. 2. If you take anything away from this and eating habits, Dairy at an absolute minimum and No bread, grains, oats. You'll be surprised how much your gut will reduce in size and overall cardiovascular health will improve. I know some things you have to cook w/ milk etc. but foods w/ lots of cheese and butter are not good for you. Even the cow's milk we buy at the store isn't good for you, we've just become accustomed to the taste, but there isn't really a lot of nutritional value in milk other than having some calcium in it, but you can get calcium other forms as well. Oats, grains, breads are really hard to digest in your system. They're some of the hardest molecules to break down in your digestive track. Obviously most things are fine in moderation. But if your wanting change...avoid those foods as much as you can. 3. This is a duh, but stop eating fast food, junk food and soda. We are what we eat enough said. Bottom line it's straight up bad for you and has zero nutritional value. We all go to fast food places simply due to the convenience of it. STOP EATING IT. It's GMO crap filled w/ all kinds of preservatives and sugars that are basically toxins to our bodies. Try not to buy any processed meats, go to the deli and go as lean as possible. Instead of going to a vending machine grab an apple or a banana, nuts, or berries. We all like those foods, we just don't eat them a lot anymore because of the convenience factor of the vending machine. And try to shy away from GMO produce if at all possible. 4. Take daily mutli-Vitamin supplements, drink lots of water throughout the day. Instead of coffee, drink ice water or a herbal tea. And last make sure you get sleep, it's important. Nobody sleeps anymore. Instead of staying up watching Netflix or your DVR, just go to bed at a decent hour if possible. It changes how you feel. Sounds stupid and simple but no one does it anymore. And don't eat before you go to bed!!! That late night snack? forget about it. Don't do it. If you do this just M-F, and have your weekends be "cheat" days (but don't go overboard), you'll see major changes within 6mo. The first couple weeks of doing this you're going to get stressed/irritable a little becasue your body is telling you to get that coke or big mac, M&M's etc, and all of that high sugary fat shit, but eat a apple instead. Eat a banana or tomato w/ salt n pepper on it. If you do this for 6mo, you'll see a complete body transformation, and it doesn't require working out. Just Eat, Sleep, drink better, and do a little bit of walking. I did this and lost 45lbs. Then I started going back up to the gym once I was in better shape (I was really REALLY out of shape for a while) and once I started doing that and supplementing a little more I lost about another 40lbs. Not saying you have to go to the gym etc...you'll lose weight just by simply doing the above and just continue to do it and eventually you'll make it a lifestyle. The problem w/ the health of Americans and why we're far and away the fattest most out of shape health care dependent country in the world where we lead the world in chronic health disorders, diseases etc. is because of what we choose to eat. We've been sold for years w/ advertisements that lots of food, and junk food is awesome. The problem is that we all overeat and eat all of the wrong shit. If you want to eat crappy processed GMO fast food garbage and blow up to 300lbs of ****, you are free to do so, this is America, do what you want. But if you want to live past 55 and not have to be hooked up to blood glucometers and all of that shit and these unsafe 'statin drugs that cause Alzheimer's that are the most dispensed rx drugs in America. These "help" treat people w/ high cholesterol by essentially killing the cholesterol cells, well it also kills the cholesterol cells that are used in the makeup of your brain and that's why on the inserts of these statin drugs like Crestor, Lipitor, Zocor, etc all say they've been linked to Alzhiemer's. There are also studies that say by the year 2020, a third of the adult American population will have diabetes . Wake up America....we're all being dumbed down, lazy and not caring about our own general health and these big pharma and hospitals and insurance companies are making billions off of our unhealthy habits, not to mention it raises the prices in everone's healthcare across the board.

As a former Pop Sucker, I now drink water flavored with MiO. I miss drinking Diet Coke, but I feel better since I have unchained myself from drinking so much of it. Every once in a while, I'll have a DC, but it never leads to more than one

I'm sorry.
If I stopped drinking soda right now, I'd have to start smoking again. it's been 3 long months without one of those beautiful little white cancer sticks, and I'd hate to lose that momentum. |

no.
Two 2 liter bottles of Mountain Dew per day for the last 20 years. Not going to stop now. Eat healthy, give up pop, and die wishing you'd just done what you liked. Big difference between living, and surviving.

Think I'll have to hold out. I'm not a regular soda drinker. I've gone months at a time without it without even thinking about it. But when I'm in the mood for it, that's what I want. It's not about the caffeine or the sugar, it's the carbonation. Well technically the sugar/corn syrup gives the carbonated water the mouth feel to compliment it. That's probably why I can't abide diet sodas even leaving taste aside.
That said, I meticulously scan everything that comes into my house aside from soda for HCFS. If I can't find HCFS-free whatever for a good price, I'll just go without that whatever until I do. Maybe I'll hop aboard if I can latch onto a Sodastream at a cheap price. That way I can make my own syrups with half REAL cane sugar. Then I'd just cut out soda not made with the Sodastream. This week, I had two days in the yard, where I went and got a big ol' 44oz refill [refills are just .79] at the gas station down the alley. The rest of the week has been water, or I've been making this iced coffee with meals, where I French press some dark roast strong, then mix it with sugar and vanilla syrup in a thermos, then add it to a glass of milk over crushed ice. Delish!!
