I was working as a Respiratory Therapist full time. Mainly ER and ICU from 6am-6pm. Dealing with life and death every single shift. I'd get off work and go to I.T. classes till 10:00 pm. Go home and study until 2:00 am. Get up at 5:00 am and do it all over again. That went on for 2 ****ing years.

Right now. My previous life was cake.
I wake up at 7:45, feed my Labs, make breakfast, then school lunches for two kids (2 and 7), see that they're dressed and ready to go by 8:30, then load them up in the car for the wife to drop them off M, T, W & F. I take the girls every Thursday due to Admin days at their respective schools. I then come home, read emails and assignments, make meetings and start composing music. Since February, I've been able to break at 3:30 to hit Lake Hollywood, either power walking or biking, hop in the car, pick up the kids and head home to make dinner (if I forget to pack a bottle for the 2 year old, all hell breaks loose on the car ride home). The 7 year old has an hour of homework each night (1st grade!) and 20 minutes of reading. Get the kids bathed and showered and down to bed by 8:30 or so, then head back to the studio to write more music. On the weekends, it's play dates and birthday parties every weekend. I have to fit in the 5 hour Costco/Target/Ralphs weekly run, which includes hauling everything up 30 stairs to our main floor. I also take care of our finances daily, along with creating and balancing each monthly budget, taking the kids to and from the doctor (along with ditching days when they're sick), taking the dogs for walks and for checkups (one of my girls gets frequent ear infections) along with balancing FaceTime with family, phone calls and so on. I'm lucky to get 7 hours of sleep each night and it's usually 6.5. I'll occasionally get to sleep in on the weekends, if there isn't something scheduled early, so I've got that going for me. Oh, and I post here when I need a second to clear my mind, which believe it or not, is really helpful. |

I have no complaints but I am very busy. I received an assignment this morning to write at least 12 tracks by next Thursday for a show called "Living With The Enemy", a BBC production, which is popular in the UK and Australia.
It would be much worse if no one asked me for music. |

Hopefully, there will be another time. I didn't even get to hit up the Royals in Surprise but it was a blast, nonetheless. |

Well all that hard work during my 54 straight days has paid off! I set the new monthly sales record this month and still have two days left. I also have the highest two month consecutive total as well. Additionally I've collected a ton of payments from past jobs all at once and my May 15th paycheck is going to be HUGE!
Party time! ..................

When I worked on season 3 of Game of Thrones. I was putting in around 80 hrs a week, teaching a course to 3rd year film students and trying to see my 1 year old as much as possible by going home for dinner then rushing back to work every night. This went on for about 4 months. Pretty sure it took a couple years off my life.
