Fox Sports reports that not even a Super Bowl can save Harbaugh after this year.

Glazer: No way Harbaugh returns, even if 49ers win Super Bowl
OCT 05, 12:31 PM Jay Glazer says there's no way Jim Harbaugh returns in San Francisco next season, even if they win the Super Bowl.

The Jim Harbaugh storyline in San Francisco refuses to die down, even after the team won last week and players have publicly endorsed their coach.

According to FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer, Harbaugh will not be back with the 49ers next season "even if they hoist the Lombardi." Glazer originally reported the locker room tension prior to the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Cowboys.

49ers CEO Jed York, clearly not pleased with all the conjecture about his coach, responded on Twitter.

During the offseason, there were rumors about Harbaugh almost getting traded to the Browns. York and Harbaugh dispelled those rumors, but the coach's status past his fourth year with the team seems to be very much in doubt.

On Sunday, an ESPN report surfaced that cracks in the relationship go as far back as 2012, when Harbaugh tried to lure free-agent quarterback Peyton Manning to the 49ers. Manning ultimately chose the Broncos, but it didn’t sit well some players, according to the report. The main issue was what Harbaugh allegedly told then-starter Alex Smith, who wanted answers at the time.

Smith specifically asked Harbaugh about the 49ers' interest in Manning and did not get an answer that matched the facts of the situation, in which Harbaugh flew to North Carolina to meet and work out Manning, the sources said.

As one team source told ESPN, "that was the first big sign to the players that they couldn't trust Jim."
Smith, who was later benched in favor of Colin Kaepernick in 2012 after suffering a concussion, returns to play the 49ers on Sunday in a time of tumult. The rumors around Harbaugh’s status among players have been making the rounds since the preseason.

In an NFL Network show last Sunday, Deion Sanders said of 49ers players: "They want him out. They're not on the same page."

"Personally I think that's a bunch of crap," Harbaugh responded Monday. "People say what they say."

Analyst Trent Dilfer offered Monday on ESPN Radio that, "I do think it's become almost toxic." Harbaugh dismissed that, too, saying, "I haven't seen Trent or Deion around much."

"When you're talking about unnamed sources, if somebody's got a good story to tell, they ought to put their name to it," Harbaugh said. "If I had a good story to tell, I'd want to put my name to it, so I don't put a lot of credibility into the unnamed source."

Krapernick would get him fired eventually anyway. He may as well go to Michigan or someplace where he can make a fortune before his team implodes around him and lowers his market value.

He's one if those types that grates on people and flames out quick. He's never coached anywhere longer than 3 or 4 years.

Great a turning programs around though.

It's the job of the HC to win games and be competitive to win a Super Bowl so it's his job to lure or attract the very best he can get over players on the roster.

His players should trust him more that he is out to get the best quarterback to lead his team. That's just stupid to not trust a HC for winning a Super Bowl or doing what ever it takes to get one.

I didn't think there was a coach in the NFL as big of a douchebag asshole as Todd Haley.

Then Jim Harbaugh got a job.

Only difference is that Harbaugh isn't a flaming dumbass like Haley was.

The only reason to let go of a coach in the NFL is losing. Jim isn't losing that many games.

1. If I'm Jed York, I would favor keeping Harbaugh over whoever is disgruntled. Few here seem to remember that Harbaugh took that core (VD, Crabtree, J Smith, Staley, Gore, Willis, Bowman, etc, as well as A Smith, Goldson, and D. Walker who have since left) and made them wildly successful. They were shit before him. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, mother ****ers.

2. Jed York is the CEO. Jed York is also concerned with making money first and foremost. Jed York has a new stadium. Given that Jed York is a CEO, I'm going to assume he is not mildly potato. If he were, he would actually say this (even behind closed doors!) and torpedo his inaugural season and money-making capability in a new stadium. Jed York is not mildly potato so he wouldn't say anything close to this. Jed York does not want to lose money.

My theory: Some pencil pusher was shunned at the water cooler by Harbs. He drummed up this wild conspiracy and pushed it to information-slut Jay Glazer. This has now caused great annoyance for Harbaugh.

Lesson: Don't shun creepy pencil pushers. Just ****ing say hi even if you think they are ****ing worthless. They may shoot up your office someday, or worse, start dirty anonymous rumors.
